2nd Battalion is a unit-level organization of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. It is administratively known as 2-7, this abbreviation is used in MILPACs and the Forums. 2-7 is currently comprised of three(3) Companies: Able, Baker, and Easy Company. 2nd Battalion's Area of Operation (AO) is currently Hell Let Loose on PC.

Introduction

The main mission of the 2nd Battalion in the 7th Cavalry regiment is to provide a sense of brotherhood, integrity, and structure for all it's members, while in a mature and respectful environment playing the supported games that everyone loves.

• Brotherhood - The bond between trooper (both enlisted and commissioned), grow through the time playing together, to where everyone feels that they belong.
• Integrity - It is vastly important that every trooper holds a high degree of integrity while in the Cavalry, which should then translate over into the real world. From being at a section practice every week to attending to more specific duties, a trooper must have a great deal of honesty.
• Structure - Even though often we as a group can be laid back, there is always a sense of structure throughout the ranks. There is a time and place both to goof off and to get down to business. Here in 2nd Battalion, it is crucial that everything is kept tidy and structurally sound.

Able Company is an infantry Company assigned to the Hell Let Loose (HLL) Area of Operations. It currently employs Infantry in a WW2 environment. Easy Company is a combined-arms Company assigned to the Hell Let Loose (HLL) Area of Operations. It currently employs Infantry, Combat Engineers, and Armor Crewman in a WW2 environment.

Colonel Jay Cameron enlisted in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment on July 26th, 2021. Since then he has served as Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in B/2-7, and Commanding Officer of E/2-7. He was appointed Battalion Executive Officer on 26 April 2025, and assigned Battalion Commander on 14 November 2025	The rakishly handsome Lieutenant Colonel Calvin Mix enlisted in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment on may 25th, 2020. He has served as a Platoon Leader and Commanding Officer in B/2-7. He was appointed Battalion Executive Officer on 22 November 2025.	Sergeant Major Cameron White enlisted on April 19th, 2023. He has served at every stage of the NCO Chain of Command underneath him in B/2-7. He was appointed Sergeant Major on February 15th, 2026. Sergeant Major Cameron White strives to grow and maintain the 7th Cavalry's professionalism, excellence, and sense of community that keeps everyone coming back each week to play with their fellow troopers.

Sergeant Major Bill West

Sergeant Major Bill West joined the 7th Cav in December 2019 and served honorably until his retirement on 02 June 2024, and shortly thereafter he was inducted onto the Wall of Honor as the first member of 2-7 to have been inducted. Sergeant Major West served as the battalion sergeant major from 25 March 2022 until his retirement. During his time in the Cav he also served with distinction in S1 uniforms, being awarded two Defense Superior Service Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal for his contributions to the department. He also received the Defense Distinguished Service Medal for being named Regimental NCO of the Year for 2023. Sergeant Major West had completed over 300 combat missions by the time he retired, showing his dedication to the Cav and being an active participant in the events occurring across the regiment.

Colonel John Hayes

Colonel John Hayes joined the 7th Cav in 2020 and served with distinction until his retirement on 06 April 2025. Colonel Hayes served as the commander of 2-7 at the time of his retirement, he also served with distinction in various secondary billets such as WAG 1IC, S1 Uniforms, S2 Investigator, S6 Forums Staff, and S7 HLL SOI Instructor. Colonel Hayes received multiple awards for his contributions not only to the Cav, but for caring for the wellbeing of his fellow troopers as well. Colonel Hayes' service to the Cav and to those around him serve as an inspiration for troopers throughout the regiment.

Colonel Ross Strider

Colonel Ross Strider enlisted in the 7th Cavalry on 26 May 2020 and served with honor and distinction until his retirement on 13 November 2025. At the time of his retirement, Colonel Strider was serving as the Commanding Officer of Second Battalion. Throughout his career, he also served in several key leadership roles, including Commanding Officer of Charlie Company, Second Battalion; S6 Second in Command; and S7 Lead Instructor for Hell Let Loose.

Hell Let Loose Training Camp Assistance

In late July 2020, Members of Able Company and Charlie Company were informed a member of the Hell Let Loose Training Camp (HLLTC) named Chef was seriously injured in real life. The individual's recovery time was assessed to be significant. In recognition for the support HLLTC had provided to the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment, several members of both HLL Companies decided that they should assist him. Several members provided assistance directly to the family of Chef, going far beyond their duties in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. This event captured the attention of the 2nd Battalion Executive Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Zachary Larouche, and the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment at large. He wrote in a signed letter: "Let this show what a community will do when met with adversity, and what will happen when a few dedicated members step up to in their own small way to make our community great.". The letter was jointly signed by the Regimental Commanding Officer, General John Chance.
