7TH CAVALRY GAMING REGIMENT CODE OF CONDUCT |
7TH CAVALRY GAMING REGIMENT GENERAL ORDERS |
A General Order of indefinite duration may be referred to as a standing order. Standing orders are necessarily general and vague since the exact circumstances for execution occur in the future under unknown conditions. For example, in most military agencies there is a standing order for enlisted men to salute officers. The officers are required by the same law to return the salute to the enlisted person; however, the name of each enlisted man is not explicitly named in the order, nor is the name of each officer, nor is the exact time which the salute should occur. The following is a numbered list of all General Orders of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. These orders apply to all members of the unit regardless of any rank, positions, or game/sub-unit that the member belongs.
General Order OneUnethical Game Play (Cheating) I will not engage in any form of cheating and will not tolerate those who do. General Order Two7th Cavalry Servers I will abide by all established game specific Rules of Engagement while playing within the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment's servers. I will obtain proper authorization before using any of the Boot Camp Servers for training activities and understand that a Boot Camp always has priority in those servers. I will not utilize the 7th Cavalry Regiment tag when naming a private server without obtaining proper authorization. General Order ThreeRegimental Tags I will wear my 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment clan tags in all First Person Shooter (FPS) game servers regardless of area of operation or if the game is supported by the unit (the only exception being Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying games, often called MMORPG or MMO's as long as the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment does not support it) and in all games supported by the unit. I will additionally wear my 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment clan tags within the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment Discord Server according to the standard format (RNK.Last.F). General Order FourAttendance I will attend all required meetings, trainings, and any other scheduled official events or will inform, in advance, the appropriate person in my Chain of Command. I will also endeavor to ensure I do not be deemed Absent Without Leave (AWOL) due to lack of attendance. General Order FiveServer Administration I will ensure that the Rules of Engagement are followed by all members and server guests, and will enforce them per the established administration guidelines (or will report the violator to the appropriate personnel in the event that action cannot be taken). I will obtain a visual confirmation of a reported violation prior to taking action per the established administration guidelines (only exception is if verbally reported by a Corporal or above). I will consider all orders issued via in-game chat invalid until auditory confirmation is obtained, whether via Discord or, in the case of the Arma 3 AO, the Teamspeak server. General Order SixDiscussion I will refrain from engaging in discussion or debate of political, religious or other similarly volatile subject matters in any 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment owned medium (game servers, forums, Discord, Teamspeak, etc.). General Order SevenMilitary Courtesy I will observe military courtesy as explicitly defined in the Discord Code of Conduct. General Order EightUnit Dedication I will not belong to another FPS unit/clan or any other group that supports an officially supported Cav game while a member of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. General Order NineRecruiting I will put forth my best effort to recruit individuals in our 7th Cavalry servers who demonstrate by their play and behavior the core values of our unit. I will not recruit within non-7th Cavalry servers or non-public servers. I will not recruit members from within the unit (recruit from one area of operation or game to another). The General Staff can authorize recruitment from within under certain circumstances such as Starter Platoons, etc. General Order TenRequests for Aid Requests for aid will not be made without Regimental Commanding Officer or Regimental Executive Officer approval. Posts requesting aid will not be made without Regimental CO or Regimental Executive Officer approval. For clarification, if you approach another Cav member, tell them you have a problem and need money to solve it, you have violated this General Order. If you find yourself in this situation, your first communication should be to a member of the General Staff. Any Supervisor/Staff that is approached by a Trooper in this manner is to direct them to the General Staff. Do not, I repeat, do not setup a Go Fund Me, or any other crowd funding device. Do not make an announcement to your subordinates that a Trooper needs help. Direct them to a member of the General Staff. Do not violate this order. Doing so will result in your removal from the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. There is no circumstance that will grant you a waiver. General Order ElevenUniversal Application All members, regardless of rank or billet, are bound by these General Orders. Under no circumstances can General Orders be ignored. |

Scope of the Teamspeak 3 Code of ConductThis document is to serve as a complete compendium to the rules of the Teamspeak 3 server. If it is not listed in this document it does not exist and is not enforceable. Each rule will have specific definitions of the rule as well as elaborate on the specified intent of the rule along with examples to help clarify the rule's true intent. By the end of this document, no questions should remain as to what the rule meant and how it applies to the player. Members who are idle in channel may cause confusion regarding which channels are available for use, members who wish to sit idle are encouraged to use the various lounge voice channels on Discord. Behavior and Language in Public Channels
Spirit of the Rule: The intent of these rules is to ensure that interactions between members are respectful of one another. Behavior and language in Private ChannelsAt the discretion of the channel owner, the above public rules may be loosened as follows:
Spirit of the Rule: This is to create a place where people must opt in to a looser set of rules regarding language. Push-To-Talk vs. Voice Activation
Personnel Identification on TeamSpeak
TeamSpeak confirmation of orders
Spirit of the Rule: This ensures no imposter in-game will cause us to kick or ban a player. Inviting the public into TeamSpeak
Military CourtesyMilitary courtesy is the bedrock upon which unit discipline is maintained. We demonstrate courtesy in the manner in which we address members of superior rank. Remember that in the 7th Cavalry Regiment, everything is earned, and so we must respect the achievements that earned a member the rank they currently hold. There are three 'settings' that determine how we address each other. Official Setting
During activities in an official setting, ranks shall be observed, whether talking to or about a member. e.g. "Sergeant Yahoo just told me that..." OR "Yes Sir" when responding to an officer. When an officer enters a channel in an official setting, the senior member will acknowledge the officer by addressing them "Hello Sir" or "Good evening Sir". This ensures the members in a channel know an officer has entered the channel and creates a break in the conversation to allow them to speak. You may be instructed by a specific NCO or Officer to drop ranks in an official setting. This applies only for that specific NCO or Officer and in that instance. Battlefield Setting
Ranks are dropped in game or during operations for the sake of brevity. Private SettingIn private channels, ranks may be dropped at the discretion of the members in the channel when not on official business. Spirit of the Rule: In official settings, we observe the proper customs and courtesies. Otherwise, ranks can be dropped as the situation dictates. Notes
Use of AddonsAny addons that allow for mass movement / channel switching are not permitted. Any individual who uses such addon and knowingly or accidentally uses it to disrupt operations on Teamspeak 3 may be subject to administrative, or disciplinary action, or both. |

3. OverviewAt all times, in all situations, user behavior and language must conform to the 7th Cavalry Regiment General Orders and Code of Conduct. Exceptions for private areas will be spelled out in detail. Specifically:
4. Direct MessagingWhile direct messaging is not view-able by anyone except the two participants, communication between two people (regardless of membership) who are both members of the 7th Cavalry Regiment Discord must conform to our Code of Conduct, specifically:
5. Private Discord ServersWhile we cannot and would not stop people from creating private servers, no private discord server is permitted to be created or exist for the purpose of anything related to the performance of Cav duties. Use only the official 7th Cavalry Discord Server for any Cav business. On unofficial discord servers we cannot enforce our rules, and therefore a situation can develop which subverts our rules, regulations, Code of Conduct, and/or the Chain of Command. 6. Group Notification SpamDue to how discords permissions are laid out, we cannot give specific people the ability to 'ping' a group, such as @arma or @squad. As such, it means it's all or nothing. With the ability to send notifications being a helpful hand for gathering members for events, we cannot disable it. You may only use group 'pings' with an 'agreeable length of time between subsequent pings. Agreeable is defined as what the ranking officer in the discussion says, as required to keep spam down to a minimum. 7. Contraventions of These RulesAs with all other rules and regulations in the 7th Cavalry Regiment, the consequences for contravening these rules will be relative to the rule being broken and the severity of the misconduct. 8. Server ManagementThe official 7th Cavalry Discord Server is to be owned and administered by General Staff. S6 HQ and other appropriate personnel will be delegated as Administrators as determined by General Staff. |

7TH CAVALRY GAMING REGIMENT UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
UCMJThe Uniform Code of Military Justice, is the foundation of military law in the 7th Cavalry. All members of the unit, including retired members, are subject to the UCMJ. HistoryOn 30 June 1775, the Second Continental Congress established 69 Articles of War to govern the conduct of the Continental Army. Effective upon its ratification in 1789, Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution provided that Congress has the power to regulate the land and naval forces. On 10 April 1806, the United States Congress enacted 101 Articles of War (which applied to both the Army and the Navy), which were not significantly revised until over a century later. The military justice system continued to operate under the Articles of War until 31 May 1951, when the Uniform Code of Military Justice went into effect. The UCMJ was passed by Congress on 5 May 1950, signed into law by President Harry S. Truman, and became effective on 31 May 1951. The word Uniform in the Code's title refers to the congressional intent to make military justice uniform or consistent among the armed services. The current version is printed in the latest version of the Manual for Courts-Martial (2008), incorporating changes made by the President (executive orders) and National Defense Authorization Acts of 2006 and 2007. AcknowledgmentThe UCMJ codified for use by 7th Cavalry was adapted from the United States Military Uniform Code of Military Justice. Initial work was performed by 2LT Whitey Mack and was approved for use on July 12, 2008. The source document is UCMJ 64 Stat. 109, 10 U.S.C. ch.47, Definitions
Nonjudicial punishmentGo to: Article 15 Procedures Court-MartialGo to: Courts Martial Procedures Trial Procedure
Punitive Articles
Note that Article 134 encompasses offenses that are not specifically listed in the manual for Court-Martial: all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the 7th Cavalry, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the 7th Cavalry, and crimes and offenses not capital, of which persons subject to this chapter may be guilty. Article 134 is often considered to be a "catch-all" for various offenses that aren't necessarily covered by the other articles in the UCMJ. It reflect acts that are not specifically listed, but nevertheless committed, by 7th Cavalry personnel that negatively impact the service, unit, etc. Miscellaneous provisions
Further Guidance Around Politics and Political ExpressionThis policy will serve as Command guidance on politics and political expression in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Politics and the expression thereof are already covered in the General Orders, however it can be easy to narrowly view politics in the framing of major parties and platforms. However, political discussion and expression is much more diverse. Examples of Political Material
All of these would be considered to fall under the Politics and Religion Policy In accordance with General Order #6. We are aware that symbols and memes have meanings before being hijacked and/or co-opted by others. We are equally aware that there are plenty of places on the internet to express ourselves and we have historically chosen to keep decisive topics out of our community not because we are the thought police; but because they end up becoming an impediment to what we all would really rather be doing.
