The Security Operations Department (SecOps) exercises command and control over all intelligence and force protection activities within the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. The department is led by the Regimental Security Operations Officer and holds operational authority over the Military Police Department and the S2 Department. Referred to as “SecOps,” the organization integrates security and operations functions under a single command. SecOps reports directly to the Regimental Headquarters. Established in 2017, the department consolidated multiple legacy functions into a unified headquarters element to enhance coordination and operational effectiveness.

Introduction

The Security Operations Department's mandate is to advise the commander on all matters relating to server administration, counter-intelligence, and digital force protection. Day-to-day operations include administrating all 7th Cavalry game servers and Discord/Teamspeak 3, as well as screening all new applicants to ensure they adhere to the established Code of Conduct, Rules, and values. Each of the departments or branches has a commander, responsible to the Regimental Security Operations Officer and the Regimental Commanding Officer of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment.

Mission

The mission of the Security Operations Department is to provide the commander with expert, timely, and relevant advice to safeguard personnel, equipment, and information in an evolving digital threat environment.

Subordinate Departments

The Security Operations Department has full command of two departments: The Military Police Department and S2 Department.

Military Police	S2 – Intelligence and Security
The Military Police Department is responsible for serving as the subject-matter experts for force protection on the 7th Cavalry Regiment's servers. It is responsible for policing the administration of all servers, advising the commander on force protection, and training 7th Cavalry soldiers on server administration.	The S2 Department provides the commander with relevant, timely, and detailed intelligence and counter-intelligence information. In the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment, it is responsible for conducting all initial checks for members joining to ensure they meet our requirements.
