Charlie Company Charlie Company Policies

This will serve as Charlie Co (C/2-7) official Section Practice Makeup Policy.

The following DO count towards a Makeup Section Practice:

  • Spending an hour training with a SL or ASL, from any section within C/2-7.
  • Attending any Charlie Co FTX. (Company or Platoon)
    • A Private Message (PM) must be started by YOU and include your SL, ASL (if you have one) and the FTX lead
  • Attending any formal Hell Let Loose Section Practice. (SP times across 2nd Batt may be seen here)

The following DO NOT count towards a Makeup Section Practice:

  • S7 Courses (See Special Exceptions)
  • Attending any other FTX outside of Charlie Company.
  • Attending a Section Practice in another game AO. (Ex. Arma, Squad... etc.)
  • Attending Hell Let Loose Public Servers without a SL/ASL in attendance.
  • Attending Hell Let Loose Operations.
  • Running around on a training server for an hour alone. There must be someone who can vouch for your makeup (SL/ASL).

Special Exceptions

In the event that there is not another Section Practice that begins within 2 hours of your normally scheduled time on a different day, you may be credited with a make-up by participating in any official operation or S7 course within the games AO. This type of make-up will only be credited once per 30 day period.

Process for Makeups

  1. If you miss an SP you are to attempt a legitimate makeup listed above.
  2. You are then to notify your SL/ASL via PM with the individual that ran it CC'd.
  3. If you are not able to do any of those, then you are to take an LOA.
  4. If you have already taken an LOA for the month and you can't do any of the qualifying makeup SPs then you are allowed to ask for an exception to what counts as a makeup.

Charlie Company Of the Quarters Policy

Of the quarters will be due from platoon staff the first Thursday of March, June, September, and December.

Process:

  • Platoon staff may recommend one trooper (any trooper not in a position of leadership)
  • Platoon staff may recommend one NCO (any trooper that is CPL / WO1 (E-4) and above or in the position of Assistant Section Leader or Section Leader.
  • Platoon staff recommendations will be considered by company staff for Charlie Company of the quarters, and all recommendations will be elevated to battalion staff for battalion wide of the quarter consideration and posting.

Charlie Company Company FTX's Policy

Platoon FTX plans will be due from platoon staff the first Thursday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. Company staff will approve platoon FTXs no later than one week prior to running for posting. Company Wide FTX will be run at the discretion of the Company Commander.

Charlie Company Section, Platoon and Company Leadership Reports Policy

This policy exists to make clear the expectations of leaders within C/2-7, and to ensure uniform quality of notes that are submitted to the chain of command.

  • Guidance on Reports: For guidance on how to fill in the basics of the report see this Regimental Procedure.

Section Reports

The Section Leader, or Assistant Section Leader by delegation, shall submit their section report no later 2300z (1700 Central) every Friday at the end of the Cav week. (This includes weeks with a company FTX). The specific regulations for Charlie Company Section Reports are as follows:

  • In the “unaccounted for troopers” section, only list unaccounted for section members. **Troopers who are on LOA are accounted for.
    • Troopers who fail to sign roll call and/or attend SP
  • Example of acceptable entries are as follows
    • Last.F (RC)
    • Last.F (SP)
  • In the SL Notes section on the forums, include the following:
    • Training topic:
    • Training material:
    • Action:
  • In the SL report form, include the following:
    • Any positive or negative morale issues for the chain of command to be aware of.
    • Any recommendations or requests for support.
    • Any disciplinary matters dealt with in the week.
  • Note: Nothing to add or a recap of the SP is not acceptable.

Platoon Leader Reports

The Platoon Leader shall submit their platoon report no later than the end of the current Cav week. Platoon reports must be submitted no later than 2300z (1700 Central) every Friday (This includes weeks with a company FTX).The specific regulations for Charlie Company Platoon Reports are as follows:

  • In the Platoon Leader Notes section, include the following:
    • Any disciplinary matters dealt with in the week.
    • A summary of any activity at platoon level this week which are relevant from the duties listed within the ICS, and progress on personal objectives.
  • Note: Nothing to add or a recap of the SP is not acceptable.

Platoon Sergeant Reports

The Platoon Sergeant shall submit their section report AND complete the company attendance tracker no later than the end of the current Cav week. Platoon reports must be submitted no later than 2300z (1700 Central) every Friday (This includes the week following company FTX’s). The specific regulations for Charlie Company Platoon Reports are as follows:

  • In the Platoon Sergeant Notes section, include the following:
    • Platoon-wide Accountability: % (Calculated as [Total Troopers Attending SP + Total Troopers Signing Roll-call] / [Total Troopers x 2] x 100.
    • Any recommendations or requests for support.
    • Number of troopers in platoon: #
    • Change from last week: #
    • Any positive or negative morale issues for the chain of command to be aware of.
    • Any recommendations or requests for support.
    • Any disciplinary matters dealt with in the week.
    • A summary of any activity at platoon level this week which are relevant from the duties listed within the ICS, and progress on personal objectives.
  • Note: Nothing to add or a recap of the SP is not acceptable.

Company Commander/Executive Officer Reports

The Company Commander/Executive Officer, shall submit their section report no later than the end of the current Cav week. Company reports must be submitted no later than 2300z (1700 Central) every Friday (This includes the week following company FTX’s). The specific regulations for Charlie Company Company Reports are as follows:

  • Note: The Company Executive Officer does not have to complete weekly reports. If the Company Commander is on LOA or unable to fill in the weekly report, then the Executive Officer is responsible for completing the report.
  • In the Company Commander Notes section (filled by both the Commander and Executive Officer), include the following:
    • Company Leadership Accountability: % (Calculated as [Total Leaders Attending SP + Total Leaders updating the Accountability Tracker] / [Total Leaders x 2] x 100.
    • Any recommendations or requests for support.
    • Any disciplinary matters dealt with in the week.
    • A summary of any activity at Company level this week which are relevant from the duties listed within the ICS, and progress on personal objectives.
  • Note: Nothing to add or a recap of the SP is not acceptable.

Company First Sergeant Reports

The Company First Sergeant, shall submit their section report no later than the end of the current Cav week. Company reports must be submitted no later than 2300z (1700 Central) every Friday (This includes the week following company FTX’s). The specific regulations for Charlie Company Company Reports are as follows:

  • In the Company First Sergeant Notes section, include the following:
    • Company-wide Accountability: % (Calculated as [Total Troopers Attending SP + Total Troopers Signing Roll-call] / [Total Troopers x 2] x 100.
    • Number of troopers in Company: #
    • Change from last week: #
    • Any positive or negative morale issues for the chain of command to be aware of.
    • Any recommendations or requests for support.
    • Any disciplinary matters dealt with in the week.

Charlie Company Training Plan Release Policy

Platoon staff shall submit a monthly training plan to company staff by the second Thursday of the previous month for review and approval. Training Plans should include

  • A Monthly topic that is the subject of the Month’s focus.
  • The Platoon Level Weekly topics that expand the Monthly topic into specific objectives for SLs to deliver practices on each week of the month.
  • The upcoming Monthly FTX alignment (where applicable).

Section Training Expectation

The Section Leader (or delegate) shall ensure a Section Level Training plan is released each week when posting their Roll Call in accordance with 7CAV-R-010, the timeline for which is dictated by 7CAV-BATT2-004. Section leaders are expected to attend SP at least 10 minutes early in order to prepare and set-up SP, they will also be expected to stay at least 10 minutes after for leadership debrief. SLs are expected to lead during SPs, platoon and company staff present are to assist the SP but at all times allow the SL to conduct and lead the SP.

Charlie Company Company Unit Size and Splitting of Unit Policy

  1. If the Unit falls below the minimum, it must be merged if possible in order to maintain overall parent unit health.
  2. If the Unit rises above the listed maximum, it will be split no later than 30-days after maintaining a continuous unit strength above the maximum. Any split occurring before this time will be at the discretion of the Platoon Staff with final approval from the Charlie Company Commanding Officer.
  3. The Trooper numbers listed below include Section Leaders, but not Platoon or Company staff.

=Charlie Company Leadership Application Grading Policy=​

This rubric will be used to determine the company selection of ASL/SL/PSG and our official recommendation for individuals at the Platoon Leader, First Sergeant, Company Executive Officer and Company Commanding Officer positions. However, positions at the Platoon Leader level and higher are not selected by Company staff and candidates may not necessarily be selected based on Company preference.

  • All scoring will be based on the individual's milpac as of the closing date for the application.
  • All scoring will start from the date of enlistment.
    • Note: If an applicant has discharged/retired and then returned, scoring will begin from the date of reenlistment.
  • All position openings will be accompanied by a post looking for applications. Applications will remain open for at least three days.

Final grading/scoring will not be open to the public. Applicants will be allowed to view their grade/score upon request.

Minimum Rank Requirements

Applicant meets Regimental minimum rank requirements: +5 points Applicant exceeds the rank of Corporal/Second Lieutenant: +5 points for each rank above

If applying for a SL/ASL role and is in the same platoon: +5 points If applying for Platoon Staff role and is in the same company: +5 points If applying for Company Staff role and from same company: +5 points If applying for Company Staff role and from same battalion: +3 points

If held a trooper positon in previous tours within 5 years: +2 points If held a platoon staff positon in previous tours within 5 years: +4 points If held a company staff positon in previous tours within 5 years: +6 points If held a battalion staff positon in previous tours within 5 years: +8 points

Grading

  • Graduated NCOA Phase 1: +3 points
  • Graduated NCOA Phase 2: +4 points
  • Graduated SAC: +3 points
  • Graduated ODS: +7 points
  • Graduated S7 Classes (excluding NCOA and ODS) : +1 point per class
  • Operations: +1 point per 5 combat operations (operations are rounded down) (Operations are capped at 200 operations or 40 points)

Secondary Billets Grading

Points towards secondary billets will only be counted if currently in that billet. If an applicant is currently in a leadership billet, their time in a non leadership/HQ position will be counted as well.

Example: CPL.John.D is currently a RRD Senior Recruiter. He joined the RRD 6 months ago but only became leadership for the past 3 months. He will get 1 point for the RRD billet and 2 points for the leadership billet. He will then get 2 points for being in the billet for 6 months, and 2 points for being in leadership for 3 months.

  • Secondary Billet: +1 point per billet
  • Secondary Billet Retention: +1 point per billet per 3 months in billet
  • Secondary Leadership: +2 points per billet
  • Secondary Leadership Retention: +2 points per 3 months in billet
  • Secondary HQ (1IC/2IC): +3 points per billet
  • Secondary HQ (1IC/2IC) Retention: +3 points per 3 months in billet
