Mission
Alpha Company exists to build, sustain, and elevate the DCS World Area of Operations into a battalion-sized element, uniting highly coordinated sections into a lethal, combat effective force.
Military Occupational Specialties
| Enlisted Rotary Crewman - 15T | Fixed Wing Aviator Warrant Officer - 155T | Aviation Officer - 15A |
|---|---|---|

| Enlisted begin their career as a pilot assigned 15T, striving to achieve their wings and become qualified within the DCS Area of Operations. | Once an aviator puts on their wings, and completes NCOA I & II, SAC, they assume the MOS 155T and become a Warrant Officer, the gold standard of fixed and rotary wing aviation. Warrant Officers are the staple of aviation within the 7th Cavalry, the subject matter experts and the future of their AO, providing critical leadership and knowledge to up and coming pilots. | Once a fixed wing aviator becomes qualified and fulfills ODS requirements, they are commissioned to enforce the 7th Cavalry's, Battalion's, as well as local, AO specific SOP. Aviation Officers lead their troopers to be successful in combat as well as successful within the 7th Cavalry. It is their duty to assume the mission of what is necessary for unit growth and sustainment within their scope of assignment and make informed decisions with overall impact in mind. |
Air Superiority Doctrine
Differing from the operational tempo typical of standard infantry and combined arms formations, A/ACD conducts operations in accordance with an airpower-centric doctrine focused on establishing and exploiting control of the air over the battlefield. This is achieved through the deliberate integration of layered surface-to-air missile networks, electronic warfare, offensive and defensive counter-air operations, and the structured suppression or destruction of enemy air defense systems. Through disciplined communications plans, datalink integration, and radio coordination, A/ACD maintains situational awareness across the battlespace and allocates flights to exploit gaps in enemy coverage, defend friendly airspace, and deliver close air support where required. By disrupting, degrading, and destroying enemy aircraft, sensors, air defense systems, and supporting infrastructure, A/ACD enables the secure movement and sustainment of friendly air, land, and maritime forces. Resulting in elevated combat effectiveness of high-value assets such as AWACS and aerial refueling aircraft that creates the conditions necessary for friendly forces to seize and hold key regions of the operational area.
Traditions and History
Alpha Company is a sub-unit level organization of the Auxiliary Combat Detachment, 7th Cavalry Regiment. It was administratively known as A/ACD, this abbreviation is used in MILPACS and avatars. It is comprised of two platoons, 1/A/ACD, and 2/A/ACD.
History
Prior to October 2021, Alpha Company began operations in April 2020 as Detachment 5620, HHC, 7th Cavalry Regiment on a trial basis to determine future success. The Escape from Tarkov AO was the first home of A/ACD in the early days of the ACD Standup. They would be here from 15JUN21 until their departure as a group and subsequent stand down on 2APR22. Digital Combat Simulator, DCS, would move in just a month later. Due to unprecedented growth, Alpha Company was split from the Auxiliary Combat Detachment and formed the newly minted 3-7 Battalion on April 1st, 2024. This is the first time in the Cav's history with three individual battalions since its start in 2002. Alpha Company was subsequently deactivated that same day. Unfortunately, due to low membership, 3rd Battalion was stood down and the remaining members of DCS were transferred back to their original home, A/ACD. After 11 months of sustained efforts across 20 troopers, a recruitment drive was posted resulting in the more than doubled manpower, and subsequent split from 1 platoon in to 2, effectively establishing a company sized element of DCS Pilots.
