The Auxiliary Combat Detachment is a unit-level organization of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. It is administratively known as ACD, which is the abbreviation used in MILPACs and the forums. ACD has a unique mission to be the home and incubation center for DEVCOM Starter Platoons of new games that have graduated to Company status. Their mission is to grow new Companies, and thus new games in 7CAV, into new Battalions. While treated as a battalion-level unit, the Combat Detachment is able to scale its size based on the needs of the Regiment. ACD is led by the Auxiliary Commanding Officer with the help of the Development Command within the Reserve and Development Command.
Mission
The mission of the Auxiliary Combat Detachment is to grow the ranks of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment by identifying new games and growing company-sized units of these new games into their own Battalion. In the meantime, they are the home and administrative command and control for new Companies that have recently graduated Starter Platoon. ACD forges future leaders and Battalions!

Traditions and History
ACD was stood up on October 27th, 2021 by Lieutenant General Cameron Burgundy, Regimental Chief of Staff. Originally formed to consolidate all of the miscellaneous units at the time, including Escape From Tarkov (A/ACD) & the Reserves as well as our various start-ups including at the time Hell Let Loose Console (B/SP then B/ACD where they currently reside), Squad (C/ACD) and Battlefield 2042 (C/SP/ACD, but has since been disbanded). Major Sharkey was assigned the first ACD Commander, serving for the first couple of months before retiring from the 7th Cavalry. Colonel Steve Rogers was assigned the same day on November 26th, 2021, and has retained his command since. Major Derek Budd, a company commander from C/2-7, transferred four months to the day on March 26th, 2022, and was assigned as Battalion Executive Officer. Sergeant First Class Anthony Preacher, a Platoon Sergeant from 1/A/2-7 was assigned last on August 15th, 2022 as Battalion Sergeant Major.
Since its start, ACD has worked heavily with the Chief of Staff and the Special Projects Division in conjunction with the Future Concepts Center to research, develop, and bring new games to the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. These include: Digital Combat Simulator, Hell Let Loose Console (the first console game in the 7th Cavalry's history), Ready or Not, Squad, and Star Citizen. DCS was formerly stood up as the 3-7 Battalion on April 1st, 2024. As of June 14, 2025, C/ACD was stood down as the home for Squad as it transitioned to the newly reopened 3-7 Battalion. Battlefield 6 would be stood up as C/ACD as the first promoted game out of DEVCOM, the sucessor to the Special Projects Divison. Foxhole followed suit as D/ACD in May 2026.
