Scope of the Rules of Engagement

This document is a compendium of the rules for our Arma Reforger servers. If any rule is not listed in this document it does not exist and therefore is not enforceable.

Each rule will have specific definitions as well as an elaboration of its intent. By the end of these Rules of Engagement there should be no questions about what the rules mean or how they will apply to both public and private players.

Arma Reforger – Rules of Engagement (ROE)

  1. No fratricide or destruction of friendly equipment.
  2. No offensive or disruptive behavior.
  3. No camping of the opposition's Main Operating Base (MOB).
  4. All support assets, Squad Leaders and above must have a microphone and be able to communicate with teammates.
  5. Do not disguise yourself as the enemy.

1. No fratricide or destruction of friendly equipment

  • Fratricide by definition is: Killing of one’s own forces in war and is used to describe “friendly fire” or also known as “Blue on Blue”.
  • This means any meaningful killing of friendly players, friendly AI defensive bots or equipment is not allowed.
  • This also means no “Revenge Killing” if a member is team killed. Any team killing will be handled by Admins or Military Police as reported.
  • No dismantling of friendly fortifications or buildings unless the admin(s) or ranking member approves of it. (ranking member being what 7th Cavalry member is “commander”)

Spirit of the rule - This rule is a common rule for team-based First Person Shooter games. Team killing is not only universally considered in bad taste and bad form but is also an extreme detriment to your team's overall supply. The idea is to have fun and not to have to worry about a chaotic free for all.

2. No offensive or disruptive behavior.

Note: The first bullet point is the only instant bannable offense, the remaining will be a strike / warning given out to players who break these rules.

  • No racism, sexism or discrimination of any kind. Any racist or discriminating remarks or usernames/gamertags will result in an instant ban.
  • No political or religious discussions or references including usernames/gamertags.
  • No disrespect towards other players or admins.
  • No disrespect towards the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment.
  • No disrespect towards deceased 7th Cavalry members.
  • No disrespectful or offensive abbreviations.
  • No elitist attitude towards others or taunting.
  • No mic spamming or misuse/overuse of the Squad/Platoon Net. (For Example: Playing Music, Chewing food, ect.)
  • No trolling or griefing.
  • Discharge or firing of any weapon on base is strictly prohibited unless under direct attack.
  • No vehicles abandoned on the landing pads.

Spirit of the rule - The 7th Cavalry tries to create an inclusive fun environment, without drama, where people can just get together, play, and have fun in a tactical environment.

3. No camping of the opposition's Main Operating Base (MOB).

  • Intentionally choking or camping the opposing sides Main Base or blocking all areas of egress from their Main base is against the rules.
    • There is no set distance to this. All decisions will be at the admin(s) discretion. If you are told to move away or commit to an attack, you will be expected to do so as soon as possible.
  • This rule does not apply to smaller sectors with respawns.

Spirit of the rule - This rule is about fair competition. We want everyone to have fun, therefore everyone should get the opportunity to fight back. If you see that the enemy is unable to get out of their spawn area you need to fall back – if you don’t you are ruining their fun.

4. All support assets, Squad Leaders and above must have a microphone and be able to communicate with teammates.

  • Pilots, armor crews, and any leadership roles must be on call over radios or voice.
  • This can be done in game or using discord during private trainings or bootcamp.
  • They must have a working microphone and be willing to coordinate over in game communications.
  • Offensive support assets such as Close Air Support (CAS) or Mortars/Artillery (IDF) are not to engage the enemy on their own accord unless in immediate danger, but shall not provoke the engagement.

Spirit of the rule - This rule is meant to help preserve some enemy for friendly infantry to still fight when there are powerful support assets like aircraft or artillery in play, as well as the coordination of those assets with ground forces to foster organized gameplay. Fire support and other force multipliers, unless specifically approved above, are on call until a call for fire is made. This is done to balance the power of support assets with the infantry.

5. Do not disguise yourself as the enemy.

  • Disguising yourself as the enemy is strictly prohibited.
  • This includes helmets, body armor, and clothing.
  • Captured equipment such as weapons, ammunition, and miscellaneous gear may be used.
  • Captured radios may only be used to monitor OpFor comms.

Spirit of the rule - To avoid blue on blue (friendly fire) and to enable fair gameplay: none shall bear the enemies uniforms to include; helmets, body armor, and clothing. Militaries are prohibited from disguising as the enemy under the Laws of War and the Geneva Conventions – of which both the US and USSR are signatories.
