1-7 Battalion Mod Proposal Policy – ARMA Reforger

For all Companies: Alpha (Aviation/Support), Bravo (Mechanized/Logistics), Charlie (Light Infantry)

Why We Have This

  • Mods can make or break the game. When they work, they add depth, realism, and better tools for the unit. When they don't, they break missions, crash servers, or just get in the way.
  • We've seen it before and we don't want a repeat of that as we move forward with Reforger.
  • This policy gives every trooper a chance to suggest mods, while making sure nothing gets added without being tested thoroughly. It's about keeping the game fun, stable, and fair for everyone.

How to Suggest a Mod

  • Step 1 – Bring It Up with Your Squad and Platoon Leadership
    • Found a mod that could improve gameplay? Bring it to your SL / PSG / PL first. Doesn't have to be a presentation—just explain what it is, what it does, and drop a link if you have one.
  • Step 2 – Platoon Takes a Look
    • If Platoon Staff thinks there's potential, they'll send it up to Company leadership. If Company gives the green light, you'll be allowed to test it unofficially. That means not during scheduled ops, SPs, or anything mission-critical.
  • Step 3 – Test It
    • Grab a few other troopers and try the mod out. The more variety in testers (different roles, different machines), the better. Run it for a week or two in your free time and pay attention to how it behaves—good or bad.
  • Step 4 – Write Up What You Find
    • At the end of the test period, send in your notes. Keep it straight: what worked, what didn't, how it affected gameplay, performance, or realism.
  • Step 5 – Company Reviews
    • Your Company Staff will review your feedback and maybe test the mod themselves. If they're on board, they'll take it to Battalion.
  • Step 6 – Battalion Review
    • 1-7 BN Command takes over from here. They'll look over everything and decide whether to send the mod to S3 for a deeper evaluation.
  • Step 7 – S3 Testing
    • S3 runs the mod through its paces. This includes server-side testing, stress testing with a full load of players, and checking for any mission-breaking issues.
  • Step 8 – Final Call
    • Once testing wraps up, Battalion Command and S3 will decide together if the mod gets added to the official pack—or if it gets shelved.

Things to Remember

If a mod isn't approved through this process, it's not to be used in official ops. Period. We're not against mods—we want the right ones, not the risky ones. This is about keeping the game running well for everyone. A cool feature doesn't matter if it tanks server performance. Everyone has a voice here—but changes need to go through the right channels.

Be smart. Test things right. Help make the unit better. — 1-7 Battalion Command
