1. Charlie Company Company FTX's Policy

This policy exists to clarify responsibilities for the execution and provision of the Field Training Exercise required monthly by Battalion Standard Operating Procedure, and how the Company should use the Field Training Exercises to plan relevant training.

2. Frequency and Weekday

Charlie Company shall provide a Monthly Field Training Exercise on the third weekend of each new month. The time shall be variable to account for US and EU availabilities but where possible shall be scheduled to maximize both groups.

3. Equivalence of Field Training Exercises with Operations

The Charlie Company FTX shall be considered equivalent to an Official Operation when it reflects an Operational context. This means that the subject matter is specifically operational combat, supported by an Operations Order (OPORD). The benefits rendered to troopers attending such an FTX when considered an Operation are:

  • MILPAC credit to attendees
  • Eligibility for combat awards

But to be considered official the Company Commander shall ensure that:

  • An official operation announcement post is made prior to the FTX
  • An official After Action Report (AAR) to be submitted by those in a squad leader or higher billet per AAR SOP.

4. Substitution for Section Pracitce

Every Company Wide FTX may count as a substitute for attending Section Practice, however, whilst Platoon FTX's may not be held as Operations they may also be used as a substitute for attending for Section Practices.

5. Process

  • The Company Commander (or their delegate) shall ensure a Monthly FTX is scheduled and delivered in accordance with Section 2 of this procedure.
  • The Company Commander (or their delegate) shall ensure that a calendar event for each FTX is posted at least two weeks from the date of the event.
  • The Company Commander (or their delegate) shall ensure that the subject matter complies with Section 6 of this procedure.
  • The Company Commander (or their delegate, typically being the person in command of the FTX) shall ensure that an After Action Report is filed for all FTXs that are to be considered “official operations” when the Subject Matter complies with the rules of Section 3 of this procedure.
  • The Company Commander (or their delegate) shall assure compliance of the Company with the Battalion procedure.

6. Subject Matter

  • The First FTX of a Quarter shall be a Team versus Team Operation equivalent exercise.
  • The Second FTX of a Quarter shall be a Team versus Team Operation equivalent exercise held on the public server.
  • The Third FTX of a Quarter shall be a Weapons Requalification event, to ensure compliance with the Battalion procedure. This, by policy, shall not be considered an Official Operation.
