Brian "Britain" Britton (August 1, 1997 - September 2, 2020) was a member of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Britton served with distinction in multiple positions in the 7th Cavalry, which include specialties in combat engineering, airborne infantry, and ground infantry. Britton additionally engaged in different games supported by the 7th Cavalry, such as ARMA III, War Thunder (as a starter platoon), and Hell Let Loose.

7th Cavalry Career

Enlistment and 1st Battalion Service

Brian Britton enlisted in the 7th Cavalry on the 26th of May, 2016. Britton would complete boot camp on the 28th of May with perfect scores, earning him the honor of being named as honor graduate. Britton would then transfer to the training unit to become a combat engineer within Charlie Company, 1st Battalion and would be fully transferred in July, 2016. Britton would attain the rank of specialist shortly after his assignment.

Britton would earn his first medal during Operation Black Gold in which he provided accurate firing support for an advancing element. Britton's actions were key in the success of the mission. For his skill in the field, he was awarded the army commendation medal.

On the 12th of May, 2017, Britton would transfer to the airborne infantry specialty and complete an additional 8 operations within the next 6 months. In this time Britton would be awarded with the Purple Heart, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Citation.

On January 5th, 2018, Britton transferred to the general infantry. In this time, Britton would complete the Non Commissioned Officer Academy course, allowing him to reach his highest attained rank of Corporal. Britton would complete 2 more operations before discharging on the 24th of September, 2018.

Return and 2nd Battalion Service

Britton would fully return to the 7th Cavalry on the 28th of February, 2020 upon the announcement of the War Thunder starter platoon. Britton would distinguish himself in the starter platoon, attaining a leadership role within the platoon. To his troopers, Britton's section practices would be known as "The Battles of Britton" earning him the nickname of "Britian".

Despite Britton's best efforts and the efforts of others, the War Thunder platoon was shut down in June of 2020. Britton would then transfer to the Hell Let Loose area of operations where he would remain for the rest of his 7th Cavalry career.

Brian Britton passed away on September 2nd, 2020. An official memorial ceremony was held by Second Battalion on the 5th of September, 2020.

Legacy

Brian Britton's career in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment was exemplary from the moment he enlisted. Britton graduated boot-camp at the top of his class, being named Honor Graduate, and transferred into the First Battalion Training Unit. Here, Britton began his career in ARMA 3 as a Combat Engineer in Charlie Company, and immediately started to exceed the expectations of what it meant to be a Trooper in the 7th Cavalry. After taking an extended leave of absence, Britton returned in full force and began to participate in operations. It was at this time that Britton was awarded his first medal during Operation Black Gold. Britton continued to serve in Charlie Company, now as an Airborne Infantryman, and participate in numerous operations, such as Operation Husky, to which Britton received a Purple Heart, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and Joint Meritorious Unit Citation. Britton discharged from the Regiment in 2019 returning in 2020 to aid with the creation of the War Thunder Starter Platoon. Britton became known as War Thunder's great leader by his fellow brothers. The section practices he lead voluntarily earned the name "The Battles of Britton," earning Britton the nickname "Britain". Britton continued to participate in all areas of the Regiment during this time, including numerous ARMA 3 operations, and many section practices the like. Once the War Thunder Starter Platoon was stood down, Britton did not hesitate to transfer into a new are of operation in the Regiment, Hell Let Loose. Britton believed that "The Hell Let Loose Community is the greatest Community I've ever seen, and that is where I want to be," and it is where he would be until he passed September 2nd, 2020. Britton was a highly active and enthusiastic trooper in Hell Let Loose, War Thunder, and ARMA 3; attending operations, section practices, establishing relationships with his brothers, he was more than just a trooper, a brother, he was a dear friend to all around him. In honor of Brian Britton, the entire Hell Let Loose AO gathered to pay their respects to him, organizing a ceremony with full honors in his name at the Church of St. Mere Eglise.
