The 7th Cavalry Regiment Reserve or 'Reserve' is a platoon sized formation reporting directly to Auxiliary Combat Detachment. The Reserve was formed in 2019 to allow members to remain with the Regiment who did not have enough time to commit to the regular section/squad level training.
Introduction
The 7th Cavalry Reserve is a separate component of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment that has only one weekly requirement: to sign roll-call. The unit was created to allow members who cannot meet the minimum requirement of one section practice weekly to still be members of the regiment, albeit with certain restrictions. The intent; not to force our members to choose between their lives and being a member of the Cav. All rules, regulations, and codes of conduct apply equally to all members of the organization, whether Reserve or not.

Traditions and History
In 2002, the 7th Cavalry was created and organized around FPS style military games. Since then, the Cav has evolved although we have not always acted in the best interest of this evolution - only adopting games that fit the Military FPS style due to our background. Over the past several years the number of games that fit our original style are being released less frequently. This causes us to rely on other games to attract new recruits and prevent current members from losing interest and finding other games to play.
We tell everyone who joins the 7th Cavalry that we are much more than just a gaming clan - we are a brotherhood. We have seen this often when troopers have come together to help someone either financially, or emotionally. In the spring of 2019, the Regimental Staff sought to expand the options for members in addition to the duties of our active community. Thus the wheels were set in motion to create a new section of the Cav, the Reserves. The Reserves have allowed Cav members to come together, continue to be part of the brotherhood wearing Cav tags but with reduced weekly responsibilities.
