S3 Operations and Training is a Staff Branch of the Regimental Headquarters. The S3 Branch consists of all Operations and Training functions in the 7th Cavalry Regiment. The Branch provides expert advise to the Commander on all matters pertaining to the execution and control of the Regiment in battle, and provides administrative tasking, orders production, training, mission creation and testing, and modpack development sub-staffs. The Branch is led by the S3, the principal staff officer of the headquarters, second only to the Headquarters Commander, the Chief of Staff. The Second-In-Command of the Branch is the S3 XO, known as the S3 Operations or S3 Ops. The Branch's NCO adviser is the S3 Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, or S3 NCO. The Branch is divided into two cells: the S33 (Operations), and S37 (Training) cells. S33 is responsible to provide mission production, mod testing, and orders production while S37 is responsible to control and administer each Battalion's individual training programs respectively.The S3 Leaderhip Branch delivers Regimental level leadership training for both officers and non-commissioned officers.
Mission
S3 Branch will provide timely expert advise to the Regimental Commander, and deliver operational excellence in the form of Operational Command and Control. S3 will act as the Commander's primary force for the execution of their intent, working to support the manoeuvure units through high quality products.
Order of Battle
S33 Operations
S33 Operations provides expert mission creation, mission control, and product production in support of the 1st (Combined Arms) Battalion and 2nd Battalion. The S33 Shop is sub-divided into 1-7 S33 and 2-7 S33, divided by game responsibilities. 1-7 S33 only produces products for Arma 3, and 2-7 S33 produces products for Hell Let Loose, and Squad.
S37 Training
S37 Training is also broken down by area of responsibility. 1-7 S37 is responsible for controlling all Arma 3 Schools, on behalf of the S3 and respective Battalion Commanders. 2-7 S33 is responsible to control all Hell Let Loose and Squad Schools. Regardless of area of responsibility, both S33 Shops produce training material, deliver and re-develop courses, and advise the S3 and superior Commander's on the capabilities of their assigned weapon systems, equipment, and training material.
1-7 S37 Assigned Schools
All First Battalion Schools operate in the Arma 3 Area of Responsibility.
