=Mission=
 +
1st Battalion, Bravo Troop, is a Stryker Infantry sub-unit of the 7th Cavalry's First Battalion. Bravo Troop conducts reconnaissance, direct action, and security operations for the Battalion. This is achieved through a combination of dismounted and mounted scouting and maneuvers to seize key terrain, gather enemy intelligence, and provide forward battle surveillance. The goal is to locate, fix, and destroy the enemy using the heavy weapons of their Strykers, mortars, and direct squad fire and maneuver in any designated battlespace. Bravo Troop moves with the speed of an Armored Brigade Combat Team, fights with the agility of an Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and consolidates gains rapidly for the Battalion. Additionally, they provide health service support to the Combined Arms Battalion.

=Bravo Company Military Occupational Specialties (MOS)=
 +
Currently Bravo Troop employs 4 different Military Occupational Specialties, and trains in 2 non-deployed Military Occupational Specialties.
 +
==68W - Combat Medic==
 +
68W Combat Medics are the Military Occupational Specialty assigned to provide lifesaving care throughout the spectrum of conflict, including during war down to the Platoon level. Combat Medics are trained in First Aid, Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC), and operation of armored and un-armored Ambulances. Medics are sent to support all Combined Arms Battalion Companies, in a variety of circumstances. Medics can jump from C-130J Aircraft as part of an Airborne operation, or operate M113 Armored Ambulances in support of an Armored operation.
 +
==11B - Mechanized Infantry==
 +
The 7th Cavalry Regiment, Bravo Troop, the Stryker Infantrymen, designated as 11 Bravos, are part of the 2nd Platoon, Assault Section, which includes two rifle squads. These soldiers are referred to as the "eyes, ears, and lightning" of the Battalion and Troop commanders. They perform a wide range of missions, including Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), as well as mounted and dismounted patrols, direct actions, high-value target missions, and specialty operations.
 +

 +
Bravo Troop Infantrymen are skilled at gathering intelligence on the enemy and terrain through both covert and overt methods, using hide positions and Infantry UAVs to support vehicles and mortars. They employ light or mission-specific platforms depending on the threat and support requirements of the Battalion and Troop. The section operates vehicles such as the M1296 Dragoon and HMMWV.
 +

 +
In counterinsurgency (COIN) missions, these infantrymen may conduct dismounted vehicle checkpoints, establish listening posts/observation posts (LP/OPs), provide rear-area security, conduct search and seizure operations, and escort Battalion forces. Although they are Stryker Infantry, they uphold Cavalry traditions.
 +

 +
==11M - Strkyer Crewman==
 +
The 11M Stryker Crewmen, also known as the Mikes, within Bravo Troop are responsible for operating and maintaining the M1296 Stryker Dragoon, as well as HMMVs and MRAP vehicles. These crewmen deliver the firepower of the Dragoon and secondary vehicles in combat, utilizing the 30mm Cannon and the coaxial M240s with great accuracy.
 +

 +
Assigned to the 2nd Platoon, 11M soldiers provide direct fire support primarily to Bravo Troop, but they also support other infantry operations when needed. In addition to their combat roles, these soldiers specialize in radio communications, mounted land navigation, routine maintenance, CASEVAC, and combat resupply.
 +

 +
During Operations Other Than War (OOTW), such as Counter Insurgency Operations (COIN), 11M soldiers are trained to operate vehicle checkpoints (VCPs), conduct presence patrols, perform route reconnaissance, and carry out convoy escort missions, among other tasks.
 +

 +
==11H - Heavy Anti-Armor Weapons Crewmen==
 +
This is a secondary MOS taken up by 2nd Platoon’s 4th Squad.
 +

 +
Within Bravo Troop, the 11 Hotel Infantrymen are assigned to the Support Section, known as the "Mouth and Thunder" of the Platoon and Troop. These squads act as the heavy hitters, supporting the dismounted maneuver elements within the Platoon. The Support Section is responsible for engaging and destroying the enemy with precision and supporting fires in close combat. They act on intelligence gathered by the Assault Section and Troop HQ to eliminate enemy forces, secure urban environments, seize key terrain, and carry out direct actions for Troop or Battalion operations.
 +

 +
These soldiers are experts in squad-level tactics and the use of crew-served weapon systems. In Bravo Troop, the Support Section excels in both dismounted and mounted Stryker/vehicle operations. They also provide security for the Assault Section, perform patrol presence, conduct search and seizure operations, manage time on target tasks, and fulfill Battalion security assignments.

==Mission==
+
The Support Section is composed of one weapons squad, operating within M1296 Dragoons or other vehicles.

Bravo Troop, 1st Battalion is an armour & cavalry asset of the 7th Cavalry. The purpose of Bravo Troop is to find, fix, and destroy the enemy through direct and indirect combat operations; as well as providing combat scouting and combat service support abilities as part of a larger coordinated operational structure. Primarily, our mission statement relies upon the sum of our pieces, we find the enemy with our Cavalry Scouts, we then pin them in place with supporting fire guided by our scouts, and the application of armour, before finishing them through our massed force. All the while, our logistics and medical platoon resupplies, rearms and provides critical logistical or medical support along the front.
+
==19D - Cavalry Scout==
 +
In the 7th Cavalry Regiment, Cavalry Scouts (19D) are assigned to 2nd Platoon, Bravo Troop. Cavalry Scouts are the "eyes and ears" of the Combined Arms Battalion Commander, and contribute to the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance Capability (ISTAR). Cavalry Scouts are experts on gathering information on the enemy and ground via covert and overt means. Cavalry Scouts employ light or heavy platforms depending on threat and supported callsign requirements. In support of the Combined Arms Battalion, the Platoon can operate light reconnaissance vehicles such as the M1127 Stryker and HMMWV. In COIN missions, Cavalry Scouts conduct vehicle checkpoints, provide rear-area security (RAS), conduct presence patrols and provide convoy escort. Cavalry Scouts, upon completion of both days of the Cavalry Scout Course (CSC) may become qualified to direct Indirect Fires or Close Air Support (CAS).

The 19 Kilo MOS, Armor Crewman, provides Reconnaissance and Security for 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry in combat operations. As an Armor Crewman, members of this MOS are system experts on the M1A2 Abrams tank as well as other armoured vehicles and dedicated to providing long-range eyes and heavy firepower to convoy missions and combined arms assaults. Whether rolling through town with closely-coordinated infantry squads, raining down fire from a tactically advantageous high ground, or thundering across the open plain to destroy enemy armour, the 19K MOS is recognized by its fierce destructive effects on the battlefield and respected for its role as the guardian of other friendly forces on the ground.

 +
Bravo Troop is a Stryker Infantry unit comprising Stryker Crewmen, Stryker Infantrymen, Stryker Weapons Specialists, and Medics, as well as the currently retired Armored and Cavalry Scout Soldiers. Members of the Troop are authorized to wear the traditional Cavalry Stetson if they are qualified on the M1A2 SEP V2 or M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, or upon completion of the Stryker Infantryman Course and Cavalry Scout Course. Infantrymen earn their Queen of Battle Blue Cord upon completing Infantry School. Soldiers who do not possess the Stetson wear the Black Beret with Regimental Flash. Those who complete the Cavalry Scout Course may wear Spurs on their combat boots or dress boots while in garrison. Additionally, soldiers who complete the Armored Career Pathway, or Master Gunner Qualification are authorized to wear the Master Gunner Badge on their uniforms, including the Combat Uniform.
 +
==Historical Roles==
 +
Bravo Troop has always remained mechanized, but has fielded a wide range of capabilities. In Arma 2, (then) Bravo Company was responsible to force generate and employ 2x Armor Platoons and 1x Artillery Platoon. In late 2011, a 4th Platoon was opened with Combat Engineers. This capability was later transferred to Echo Company, a dedicated Combat Engineer Company. Following the closure of the 15 Series (Artillery) MOS in 2012, the Company was reduced in scope to Armor only. In 2014, following the closure of [[Delta Company D/1-7|Delta Company]], the Company was re-organized to 1x Armor Platoon and 2x Mechanized Infantry Platoons.

As a Cavalry Scout, you will be trained to a superior standard higher than regular forces, establishing and building upon your experience and expertise. You will be cross-trained in the art of reconnaissance, mechanised tactics, calling in air support, and all crewman roles of the M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle!
+
In late 2015, Bravo Company expanded to a 3rd Platoon providing Health Service Support (HSS) capability to the Combined Arms Battalion through Combat Medics. This capability was removed from the company in 2016 and transferred to the Headquarters, and Headquarters Company (HHC). In 2018, following the closure of the 1st Battalion HHC, the Combat Medical capability was reassigned to Bravo Company. The 3rd Platoon has continued to expand both medical and logistics capabilities into 2020, but officially only has Medical MOS.

 +
In late 2020, 3rd platoon was stood down and the Medical MOS was combined into 1st Platoon with the Tanker MOS.

=== 68W - Medical & Logistical Platoon===
+
In July 2022, the Tanker MOS was transferred to 2nd Platoon to provide the Troop with a more streamlined Direct Action Platoon. Due to this change, 1st platoon became a support Medical Platoon, and has remained so until today.

Our combat support platoon is the backbone of our operational ability, we rely upon these sections to perform critical combat resupply, medical treatment and CASEVAC tasks. Often attached and working alongside our other companies, our service support platoon is critical to maintaining a high degree of combat effectiveness within our combat platoons. Within the platoon, itself are the logistical and medical branches (both under 68W within the CAV MOS system). Allowing trooper to train for both roles, if desired through our training resources. The efficiency and professionalism of these individuals are what keeps our forces fighting.
+
==Re-Designation from Company to Troop==
 +
In 2018, the sub-unit was officially renamed Bravo Troop, by Troop Commander Major [https://7cav.us/rosters/profile?uniqueid=122 Jon Argus], to align more closely with its real role as a Combined-Arms Armor and Cavalry force.

Bravo Troop is a sub-unit level organization of the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment. It is administratively known as B/1-7, this abbreviation is used in MILPACS and avatars. It is comprised of two Platoons, 1st Platoon containing two Sections of Combat Medics (68W) and 2nd platoon containing three Sections of Mechanized Infantry (11B).

Mission

Bravo Company Military Occupational Specialties (MOS)

Currently Bravo Troop employs 4 different Military Occupational Specialties, and trains in 2 non-deployed Military Occupational Specialties.

68W - Combat Medic

68W Combat Medics are the Military Occupational Specialty assigned to provide lifesaving care throughout the spectrum of conflict, including during war down to the Platoon level. Combat Medics are trained in First Aid, Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC), and operation of armored and un-armored Ambulances. Medics are sent to support all Combined Arms Battalion Companies, in a variety of circumstances. Medics can jump from C-130J Aircraft as part of an Airborne operation, or operate M113 Armored Ambulances in support of an Armored operation.

11B - Mechanized Infantry

The 7th Cavalry Regiment, Bravo Troop, the Stryker Infantrymen, designated as 11 Bravos, are part of the 2nd Platoon, Assault Section, which includes two rifle squads. These soldiers are referred to as the "eyes, ears, and lightning" of the Battalion and Troop commanders. They perform a wide range of missions, including Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), as well as mounted and dismounted patrols, direct actions, high-value target missions, and specialty operations.

In counterinsurgency (COIN) missions, these infantrymen may conduct dismounted vehicle checkpoints, establish listening posts/observation posts (LP/OPs), provide rear-area security, conduct search and seizure operations, and escort Battalion forces. Although they are Stryker Infantry, they uphold Cavalry traditions.

11M - Strkyer Crewman

The 11M Stryker Crewmen, also known as the Mikes, within Bravo Troop are responsible for operating and maintaining the M1296 Stryker Dragoon, as well as HMMVs and MRAP vehicles. These crewmen deliver the firepower of the Dragoon and secondary vehicles in combat, utilizing the 30mm Cannon and the coaxial M240s with great accuracy.

During Operations Other Than War (OOTW), such as Counter Insurgency Operations (COIN), 11M soldiers are trained to operate vehicle checkpoints (VCPs), conduct presence patrols, perform route reconnaissance, and carry out convoy escort missions, among other tasks.

11H - Heavy Anti-Armor Weapons Crewmen

This is a secondary MOS taken up by 2nd Platoon’s 4th Squad.

The Support Section is composed of one weapons squad, operating within M1296 Dragoons or other vehicles.

19D - Cavalry Scout

19K - Armor Crewman

A Bravo Troop Soldier guides an M1A2 SEPV2 Abrams Main Battle Tank into a fighting position during a Field Training Exercise.

The 19K Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Armored Crewmen is responsible to operate and maintain the M1A2 SEP V2 Main Battle Tank. Armor Crewmen are responsible to deliver the immense firepower of the M1A2 in combat, with great accuracy. 19K Soldiers are employed in 2nd Platoon only, and provide direct fire support primarily to Bravo Troop. However, M1A2 Tanks have been assigned to support other Infantry operations as well. Soldiers in this MOS also specialize in radio communications, mounted land navigation, routine maintenance and resupply. In Operations Other than War (OOTW), such as Counter Insurgency Operations (COIN), 19K Soldiers train to operate Vehicle Checkpoints (VCPs), conduct presence patrols and conduct convoy escort missions.

Traditions and History

SGT (at the time) Dammond Richards, former Company Commander displays the Cavalry Stetson Headdress

Historical Roles

Bravo Troop has always remained mechanized, but has fielded a wide range of capabilities. In Arma 2, (then) Bravo Company was responsible to force generate and employ 2x Armor Platoons and 1x Artillery Platoon. In late 2011, a 4th Platoon was opened with Combat Engineers. This capability was later transferred to Echo Company, a dedicated Combat Engineer Company. Following the closure of the 15 Series (Artillery) MOS in 2012, the Company was reduced in scope to Armor only. In 2014, following the closure of Delta Company, the Company was re-organized to 1x Armor Platoon and 2x Mechanized Infantry Platoons.

In late 2020, 3rd platoon was stood down and the Medical MOS was combined into 1st Platoon with the Tanker MOS.

In July 2022, the Tanker MOS was transferred to 2nd Platoon to provide the Troop with a more streamlined Direct Action Platoon. Due to this change, 1st platoon became a support Medical Platoon, and has remained so until today.

Re-Designation from Company to Troop

In 2018, the sub-unit was officially renamed Bravo Troop, by Troop Commander Major Jon Argus, to align more closely with its real role as a Combined-Arms Armor and Cavalry force.
