Mission Statement
The S5 Film Department represents the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment through high-quality, engaging video content. Our team captures and showcases gameplay across various supported games, reflecting our values of integrity and camaraderie. Through expertly crafted videos, we highlight the tactical skills, teamwork, and enjoyment that define our Regiment, thereby reinforcing our esteemed identity and supporting recruitment efforts.
Film Policy
Original Project Creation
- Define and develop your idea for a project.
- Outline your project's concept, including objectives, target audience, and desired impact.
- Create a detailed project plan, including a storyboard, shot list, experimental design ideas, dialogue, existing video clips or graphics, and roles needed.
- Resource Assessment
- Availabe Resources:If you have all necessary resources, proceed to compile them into a working project folder in the S5 Film ticket system.
- Additional Resources Needed:Obtain any additional resources. You may request film donations and follow the S5 Donated Media Auditing Process for external materials. Perform original recordings, animations, and procure graphics and music as needed. Review the S5 Google Drive archive for useful materials.
- Film Editing
- Use editing software like BlackMagic Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, or Capcut | Any other applicable editing software will also work.
- Credit all contributors and sources. Prepare a title and description according to the S5 Title and Description Guidelines.
- Submission and Review
- Submit the edited video to the S5 Film Lead, S5 1IC, and S5 2IC for review.
- Approval:If approved, submit for upload to YouTube or other platforms through your designated S5 Senior Clerk or the Film Lead.
- Rejection:If not approved, review feedback, make necessary edits, and resubmit.
Stakeholder Project Creation
- Volunteer and Define
- Volunteer for an S5 Film Request ticket and understand the requestor's needs. Define the project with input from the requestor and relevant stakeholders.
- Project Planning
- Develop a detailed project plan, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Resource Gathering
- Assess and gather resources, including requesting donations if necessary. Ensure content aligns with the requestor’s tone and vision.
- Film Editing and Submission
- Edit using preferred software, credit all contributors, and follow the S5 Title and Description Guidelines.
- Initial Review: Submit to the requestor and their leadership for feedback.
- Final Review: After stakeholder feedback, submit to the S5 Film Lead, S5 1IC, and S5 2IC.
- Delivery
- If approved, deliver the video to the requestor or arrange for its upload to platforms as directed. If not approved, address feedback and repeat the process.
Custom Project Creation
- High Regard: Custom project creation is highly valued. We encourage innovative and unique video projects that contribute to the Regiment’s visibility and engagement.
- Video Ideas
- DCS:Tactical mission highlights, pilot training videos, and collaborative operations.
- Squad:Squad tactics, intense firefights, and teamwork showcases.
- Hell Let Loose/Hell Let Loose Console:Historical battles, strategic gameplay, and community events.
- Microsoft Flight Simulator:Aviation tutorials, scenic flights, and Regiment missions.
- Arma 3:Large-scale operations, mission walkthroughs, and tactical training.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of S5 Film Department
S5 Film Clerk IT
- Weekly Reporting: Provide updates on technical issues, project status, and resource needs.
- Support Role: Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining film editing systems.
- Minimum Rank: PFC
S5 Film Clerk
- Bi-weekly Reporting: Report to Media Lead bi-weekly with progress updates and blockers.
- Content Creation: Produce at least one long-form video (15-30 mins) or two short-form videos (10-30 seconds) per month.
- Review: Ensure media content is reviewed by Lead and Staff before uploading.
- Consequences: Malicious actions will result in immediate LoR and/or removal.
- Minimum Rank: PFC
S5 Film Editor
- Editing: Handle detailed editing tasks, ensuring high quality and alignment with Regiment standards.
- Feedback: Incorporate feedback from reviews and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with S5 Film Lead and other team members to produce polished content.
- Minimum Rank: PFC
S5 Film Senior
- Oversight: Oversee project creation, review processes, and adherence to standards.
- Mentorship: Guide Film Clerks and provide feedback on their work.
- Reporting: Ensure all projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
