All investigation folders require a mandatory Senior Check conducted by a secondary reviewer prior to closure.

Review Responsibility Matrix

Review authority is determined by the role of the individual who completed the folder:

Senior Investigator / Acting Senior Investigator Lead Investigator
Lead Investigator Senior Investigator
S2 Assistant Senior Investigator
S2 Command (1IC / 2IC) Senior Investigator
Senior Investigator on Leave of Absence (LOA) Acting Senior Investigator

Command Authority and Restrictions

Overrides:

The S2 1IC and S2 2IC retain the authority to conduct Senior Checks personally or to reassign review authority on a per-folder basis to meet operational requirements, including but not limited to Lead Investigator unavailability.

Assistants:

S2 Assistants do not hold Senior Check authority and may not conduct reviews unless officially designated as an Acting Senior Investigator.



A folder is not considered closed until a valid Senior Check has been completed by an authorized reviewer.
