Role of the Trooper

A Trooper is the basic primary billet in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment and lowest link in the Chain of Command. It is any enlisted member that is part of a Section, and not the Section Staff. Troopers can retain their combat/primary billet whilst volunteering for most secondary billets. A Trooper will not be able to advance past the rank of Corporal unless a leadership billet is attained. Troopers are what make up the vast majority of all combat billets; they are the soldiers who train weekly to keep their skills honed, and act as the front-line fighting force of the Regiment.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of basic responsibilities. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, merely the base from which to start. Refer to the Trooper ICS in the Company or Battalion SOPs for a more complete list of duties and responsibilities.

  • Posting on the section roll call every week, as early as possible.
  • Attending at least one section practice every week, minimum of one hour.
  • Attend any mandatory meetings and practices set forth by the Trooper's direct chain of command.
  • Adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Section Leader, and follow their orders and instructions, as well as any other direct superiors in the Trooper's chain of command.
  • Follow the chain of command to bring up any issues within the Section.
