Introduction

This document details regulations and procedures for the S6 Department.

S6 Department Regulations and Procedures

The following documentation is subject to change. Please consult with S6 Command Staff for inquires.

Assignment of Privileged Accounts

Accounts provided to individuals that are defined as privileged accounts (see AUP) are only to be assigned to members of the 7th cavalry in addition to the following conditions. Accounts are, but not limited to: FTP, SSH, RDP, Firedaemon, ACP or any that have capacity to affect widespread access on our servers or infrastructure.

  • Must be in a appropriate billet.
  • Privileged access is required to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Written Permission from S6 OIC.
  • Member must read and accept terms of Acceptable Use and ICS provided prior to giving access credentials.
  • Violation of AUP, Rules as outlined or general orders will lead to disciplinary action including but not limited to, VCS, NCS and Article 15. As well as immediate dismissal from the department.

Server Maintenance

Server maintenance is defined as a process to configure, install or remove data or applications that require removing access or significant reduction in availability of our servers.

  • Maintenance must be scheduled with approval from OIC/XO 24 hours prior.
  • Detailed assessment of any modifications to be done must be submitted as a ticket.
  • Post-Maintenance report must be added to the ticket as well as a general announcement once completed.
  • Issues during or after maintenance must be communicated to S6 Command staff immediately.

Assignment of In-game Administrators

In-game Administrators are 7th Cavalry members with additional abilities to administer our game servers. This includes special permissions for "Zeus" or "Spectator" as well as any ability that is not available to the public on our gameservers.

  • Must be in a approved billet (see Assignment of Admin Access)
  • If not defined as an approved billet, Written Request or Approval for individual by their department or battalion command staff.
  • Request for In-game admin must be done within a ticket and documented. no exceptions.
  • Event or Public server access requires approval from S3 Command Staff or the Battalion Command Staff for their respective game.
  • Access to Game servers under purview of Starter Platoon and not S3 or any Battalion will require approval from either General Staff or S6 OIC.
  • Server Admin Course (SAC) is required for assignment unless explicit written exception is made by their department or battalion command staff.
  • Non-7th Cavalry personnel are prohibited.

Battlemetrics

Battlemetrics is used in tandem with In-game administrators to effectively and sometimes remotely admin our game servers. Access is used to facilitate kick, ban and monitor/track activities of members and players on our game servers.

  • Member must be in a approved billet. (see Assignment of Admin Access)
  • If not defined as an approved billet, Written Request or Approval by S6 OIC, XO or General Staff.
  • Non-7th Cavalry personnel are prohibited.
