Introduction

The CavPack is the 7th Cavalry Regiments' Arma 3 tailored Modpack used in Operations and Training on our private servers. It is known as the "CavPack". The CavPack is a package of Arma 3 mods that have been chosen to be used in all official 7th Cavalry Operations and Training. Currently this modpack is running on all training servers.

Installation

This is the official installation guide for the 7th Calvary Arma 3 Modpack, known as the "Cavpack".

Required Programs

The following programs are required and must be installed before proceeding with modpack installation:

Setting up Teamspeak 3

Refer to Teamspeak page for installation instructions.

Installing the CavPack

1. Download the CavPack here: https://downloads.7cav.us/arma/cavpack_3v9.zip

2. Delete or rename your old @CavPack folder

3. Unzip the new CavPack to your Arma3 folder (example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3)

4. With the Arma 3 Launcher open, navigate to the "MODS" tab. Click the "LOCAL MOD" button (this is a file with a green plus icon), and navigate to: STEAMAPPS\COMMON\ARMA 3, and select the @CAVPACK folder. This will add the @CAVPACK local mod to your mod list. Then, add the @CAVPACK mod to your mod list. This is a requirement to successfully connect to an Arma 3 Training Server.

5. Optional, but recommended: Save the entire mod list as a "PRESET". Once all mods are selected, navigate under the "MODS" tab to the top right, and click the "PRESET" drop-down. Click "SAVE AS..", and assign a name for the Cavpack Modset. Once this is completed, the user can select the entire modset with one click.

Importing a Mod Preset in the Arma Launcher

To ease your installation, we have provided mod presets for you to download and use to install and load your mods.

Install instructions:

1. Download the provided mod presets.

2. Open the ARMA 3 launcher and navigate to the "MODS" tab.

3. Once on the "MODS" tab, navigate to the top-right and click the button that says "PRESET"

4. In the PRESET list, click "Import".

5. Select the preset files you previously downloaded.

6. The presets should now be available to choose in the ARMA launcher from the PRESET menu.

IMPORTANT NOTE:' Imported presets do not include LOCAL mods, e.g. the CavPack. After successfully importing the provided presets, ensure you follow the instructions elsewhere on this page for installing the CavPack. Remember to SAVE your preset after adding the CavPack, or it won't be loaded in the future.
