1BN Reporting Deadlines

All 1-7 Company reporting deadlines are superseded by this post and must be enforced by all 1-7 leadership billets.

For guidance on how to conduct reports, please see the Regimental SOP: 7CAV-R-029

For guidance on how to counsel or discipline for accountability violations, please see 7CAV-BATT1-009.

The 7th Cavalry Week

  • The 7th Cavalry week officially starts every Saturday and ends every Friday.
    • This means Roll Call postings and Section Practice attendance for that given week can only fall between Saturday to Friday to count for that week in order for a trooper to be considered accounted for that week.

Roll Call Deadline

  • Squad/Section Roll Calls (RC) are always due to be posted by the appropriate staff by no later than Sunday at 0700Z (0300).
  • Late Squad/Section RC post means troopers cannot reply to post to be accounted for the week, which interrupts our entire accountability process. Thus,
    • All late RC posts by SL's and ASL's must be counselled accordingly by Platoon Staff within 3 days.

Squad/Section Leader After Action Report (AAR) Deadline

  • Squad/Section Leader AAR's are to be submitted by no later than Monday at 0700Z (0300).

Platoon Leader and Platoon Sergeant Note Deadline

  • Platoon Leader and Platoon Sergeant notes are to be submitted by no later than Wednesday at 0700Z (0300).

Company Staff Notes Deadline

  • Company Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Company First Sergeant notes are to be submitted by no later than Friday at 0700Z.

The Chain of Command

  • Platoon Staff will ensure that SL/ASL's are posting Squad/Section Roll Calls on time, as well as conducting monthly RC audits to ensure accuracy, and coach and counsel as required within 3 days.
  • Platoon Staff will ensure that all Squad/Section Leader AAR's are submitted on time, review the report, coach and counsel as required, and work with Squad Leaders to resolve any issues that arise during the week within 7 days.
  • Company Staff will ensure that Platoon Staff are submitting PL/PSG Notes on time, review the notes, coach and counsel as required, and work with Platoon Staff to resolve any issues that arise during the week within 7 days.
  • Battalion Staff will ensure that Company Staff is submitting Company CO/1SG Notes on time, review the notes, coach and counsel as required, and work with Company Staff to resolve any issues that arise during the week within 7 days.
  • Good judgement can be exercised at all levels of the chain of command when it comes to excusing reporting deadlines and counselling when issues are communicated in advance or extenuating circumstances exist. However, the intention is that this should be rare and not abused.
