Echo Company, 2nd Battalion is a military unit of the 7th Cavalry focused on Squad. It is administratively known as E/2-7; this abbreviation is used in MILPAC and avatars (among other things). It is formed of two platoons, 1st Platoon consists solely of infantry squads. 2nd Platoon has one infantry squad, rotary section and an armor section.
Mission
Echo Company, 2nd Battalion is a modern company that deploys into AO's all around the world including, but not limited to: Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Estonia, and Norway. Echo Company at is core is an infantry company with several specialized MOS's such as Armor Crewman(19K) and Pilots(15P).

Military Occupational Specialties | Description |
Infantry Officer (11A) | The infantry officer is responsible for leading Platoons within Echo Co. Ensuring the readiness of troopers, crewmen and pilots. |
Infantry (11B) | The core of Echo company, the 11B's are the infantry. They are the backbone of the company, leading attacks, mounting defenses, and supporting the other MOS's in the field of battle. |
Armor Crewman (19K) | The Crewman, provides Reconnaissance and Security in combat operations. As a Crewman, members of this MOS are system experts on a variety of Main Battle Tanks as well as other vehicles, and dedicated to providing long range eyes and heavy firepower to missions and combined arms assaults. Whether rolling through town with closely-coordinated infantry squads, raining down fire from a tactically advantageous high ground, or thundering across the open plain to destroy enemy armor, the Crewman MOS is recognized by its fierce destructive effects on the battlefield and respected for its role as the guardian of other friendly forces on the ground. |
Pilot (15P) | The Pilots, provide much needed infantry transportation and logistics delivery to the front lines. Their role keeps the front lines supplied of ammunition and building supplies. |
Crewchief(15T) | The crewchief (15T) is primarily responsible for the maintenance, logistics delivery and Close Air Support (CAS). With hundreds of Army missions depending on these helicopters, they must ensure that all of them are safe and ready to fly. |

Echo Co. School Of Infantry (SOI) Courses
Course | Description |
Advanced Individual Training (AIT) 1 & 2 | This course is to give a trooper the basic duties of a frontline infantryman. |
Basic Assault Movement Course (BAMC) | This course is to give a trooper a basic understanding of how Squads and platoons are broken down, as well as teach you how they move in combat scenarios. |
Weapons Qualification Course (WQC) | This course is to train the student on each of the personal weapons systems most used in Squad and qualify their ability to utilize each. |
Combat Lifesaver Course (CLS) | This course will enable a trooper to be able to effectively administer first aid while in combat and become a great asset on the battlefield. |
Explosive Ordinance Disposal Course (EOD) | This course will enable a trooper by detecting, identifying, conducting on-site evaluation, rendering safe, exploiting, and achieving final disposition of all explosive ordnance, including IED and weapons of mass destruction (WMD); provide support to joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational operations as required. |
Indirect Fire Course (IDFC) | This course will give the trooper the basic skills needed to functionas a soldier within a mortar team and provide indirect fire support to line infantryman in the heat of battle. |
