Mission Statement

The S5 Social Media Team serves as the dynamic voice of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Our mission is to create bold, engaging, and visually appealing social media platforms that showcase the incredible activities and achievements of the 7th Cavalry. Through our content, we aim to connect with past, present, and future members, keeping them informed and inspired by the Regiment’s legacy. We pride ourselves on being proactive and interactive, ensuring that every post and engagement reflects the core values of the 7th Cavalry. As a vital part of the S5 Department, our team plays a crucial role in recruiting new troopers and strengthening our community.

Social Media Policy

Content Posting for the 7th Cavalry Gaming Community

Purpose: To standardize content posting to enhance the 7th Cav Gaming community's online presence, engagement, and growth.

Purpose

To establish a consistent and impactful content strategy that strengthens the 7th Cavalry Gaming Community’s online presence, drives engagement, and fosters growth across all our social media platforms.

Scope:

This SOP applies to all designated social media managers and contributors within the 7th Cavalry Gaming Community, ensuring a unified and professional approach to content creation and posting across the following platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Steam, Discord, and TikTok.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a Consistent Posting Schedule

  • Ensure regualar and timely content updates across all platforms to keep the community engaged and informed.

Stay Updated on Relevant Trends

  • Monitor and incorporate current trends to keep our content fresh, appealing, and relevant to our audience.

Integrate 7th Cavalry Branding

  • Consistently apply 7th Cavalry branding across all media, ensuring our identity and values are reinforced on every platform.

Postion the Community as Active and Relevant

  • Strategically position the 7th Cavalry Gaming Community within key online spaces, highlighting our active presence and relevance in the gaming world.

Create Engaging and Diverse Content

  • Develop a variety of content types (e.g., videos, images, articles, short-form content) tailored to each platform’s strengths to increase overall engagement.

Collaborate with Internal Teams

  • Work closely with departments such as S5 Film, Graphics, and Public Relations to ensure cohesive messaging and support broader community initiatives.

Monitor and Respond to Engagement

  • Actively monitor community interactions, responding to comments, messages, and feedback in a timely and professional manner to foster positive relationships.

Analyze Performance Metrics

  • Regularly review analytics from each platform to assess the effectiveness of content strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Promote Events and Announcements

  • Highlight key events, announcements, and initiatives within the 7th Cavalry Gaming Community to boost participation and awareness.

Crafting Compelling Content:

  • Brainstorm and develop innovative content that showcases the unique strengths and values of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Writing Promotional Copy:

  • Craft persuasive and concise copy that clearly communicates the unique benefits of joining the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Highlight opportunities for growth, camaraderie, and immersive gaming experiences. Ensure each piece of content includes a compelling call-to-action, inviting individuals to join and providing straightforward instructions on how to become a part of our community.

Creating Visual Assets:

  • Design captivating graphics and videos to enhance your promotional copy, ensuring they grab attention and resonate with your audience. Incorporate visuals that authentically represent the gaming culture and embody the spirit of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. Use dynamic imagery, consistent branding, and thematic elements that reflect the camaraderie, strategic depth, and passion that define our community.

Adapting Content for Facebook: Tailor your promotional content to fit the formatting guidelines of each platform, including character limits, image dimensions, and video length restrictions. Craft posts with attention-grabbing headlines and concise, impactful messages that adhere to each platform’s best practices. Utilize platform-specific tools to design visually engaging posts and ads that stand out. Ensure that your visuals are optimized for each platform’s specifications and that your call-to-action is clear and compelling.

Testing and Optimization:

  • Launch your recruitment promotions across platforms and closely monitor their performance using analytics tools. Roles of S5 Department Clerk

Overview

The S5 Department Clerks are essential to the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment's success in creating engaging content across multiple social media platforms. Clerks are responsible for producing graphics, videos, and other media, ensuring all content aligns with the regiment’s communication guidelines and supports our community’s growth and engagement.

Social Media Management

Weekly Communication
Maintain at least one weekly contact with the Social Media Senior to stay aligned with ongoing strategies and objectives.
Adherence to Guidelines
Ensure that all communications and content on social media platforms comply with the "Cav Communications Guidelines." Any media or events not officially supported by the 7th Cavalry must be reviewed and approved by the Social Media Lead before posting.
Platform Responsibilty
This includes Engaging with the community and answering comments/questions positively; Each clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining their designated social media platform, following the specific posting requirements and standards set by the section lead.

Collaboration and Planning

Monthly Review Meeting
Attend a monthly planning and review meeting with the section lead. During these meetings, clerks are expected to analyze and review posted content, assess its impact and engagement, and plan activities for the upcoming quarter. This collaborative approach ensures that all efforts are aligned with the regiment’s goals and that content remains relevant and impactful.

Accountablity

Consequences for Incomplete Duties
Failure to complete assigned duties may result in immediate removal from the department. This policy emphasizes the importance of each clerk’s role in maintaining the regiment’s professional online presence.
Malicious Actions
Any actions deemed malicious in nature, especially those involving 7th Cavalry social media platforms, will result in an immediate Letter of Reprimand (LoR) and removal from the department. This ensures the integrity and security of the regiment's online presence.

Rank Requirement

Minimum Rank
The minimum rank required for the S5 Department Clerk role is Private First Class (PFC). This ensures that clerks have the necessary experience and understanding of the regiment’s standards and values.

SOP for Instagram Content Posting for the 7th Cav Gaming Community

To standardize Instagram content posting to enhance the 7th Cav Gaming community's online presence, engagement, and growth.

Scope:

This SOP applies to all designated social media managers and contributors within the 7th Cav Gaming community.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a consistent posting schedule
  • Keeping up with relevant trends
  • Incorporating 7th Cavalry Branding into as much media as possible
  • Positioning our community as active & relevant among the right communities

Procedure:

  • Content Strategy Alignment: Focus on content that showcases community events, member achievements, and highlights from gaming sessions, aligning with the 7th Cav’s ethos of teamwork and camaraderie.
  • Visual Standards: Use high-quality images and videos that reflect the vibrant and dynamic nature of the community's gaming activities. Ensure branding consistency with logos and color schemes.
  • Craft Engaging Captions: Incorporate engaging, community-focused captions. Highlight the story behind the content, use relevant gaming hashtags, and include calls to action encouraging followers to engage.
  • Schedule Posts for Maximum Engagement: Identify peak times when the community is most active online for scheduling posts.
  • Interactive Engagement: Promptly respond to comments and messages, fostering a sense of community. Share behind-the-scenes content in stories for real-time engagement.
  • Performance Review and Adaptation: Regularly analyze engagement metrics to refine content strategy, focusing on what resonates most with the community.

Posting on Instagram Using a Phone:

  1. Open the Instagram App: Tap on the Instagram app on your phone to open it. Make sure you're logged into the correct account associated with the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment.
  2. Start Your Post: Tap the "+" icon at the bottom center of the screen. You can choose to take a new photo/video or select one from your gallery.
  3. Edit Your Content: After selecting your photo or video, use Instagram's editing tools to enhance your content. You can apply filters, adjust brightness, add text or stickers, and more.
  4. Add a Caption and Tags: Craft a compelling caption that aligns with our voice and mission. Tag relevant users (e.g., @7thCavalryGaming) and add hashtags to increase visibility.
  5. Share Your Post: Once you're satisfied with your content and caption, tap "Share" to post it on Instagram.
  6. Posting on Instagram Using a PC:
  7. Access Instagram on a Web Browser: Go to Instagram's website and log in with the regiment's account credentials.
  8. Enable Mobile Site (Optional): If the direct upload feature is unavailable, right-click on the page, select "Inspect" to open the developer console, and then click the 'Toggle device toolbar' icon to switch to mobile view. Refresh the page if necessary.
  9. Upload Your Content: Click the "+" icon at the bottom of the screen, just like on the mobile app. You'll be prompted to select a file from your computer.
  10. Edit and Caption: Once your photo or video is selected, you can crop it and add a caption, tags, and hashtags as you would on the mobile app.
  11. Post Your Content: Click "Share" to post your content to Instagram.

SOP for Reddit Content Posting for the 7th Cav Gaming Community

Purpose:

To standardize Instagram content posting to enhance the 7th Cav Gaming community's online presence, engagement, and growth.

Scope:

This SOP applies to all designated social media managers and contributors within the 7th Cav Gaming community.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a consistent posting schedule
  • Keeping up with relevant trends
  • Incorporating 7th Cavalry Branding into as much media as possible
  • Positioning our community as active & relevant among the right communities

Procedure:

  • Ensure to check the S5 Social Media section in discord for updates and featured items needing to be posted.
  • Share items onto the official Reddit account.
  • Social Media is one of the top recruitment assets the 7Cav has ensure to use the hashtags (#) with related content to gather followers for the account.
  • Ensure to follow the rules of any sub reddits for recruiting, event posting, and media posts.
  • Use graphics and media when able as it attracts more users.
  • Reddit has its share of internet trolls. Always be respectful and engage in productive conversation.
  • Never use content that does not belong to the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. That makes us look bad and could have possible legal consequences.
  • Use RRD Recruiters as a tool to gain information about AO’s that you are not familiar with before posting information related to the AO.
  • Note:
    • This SOP ensures that Instagram postings effectively communicate the 7th Cav Gaming community’s spirit, foster engagement, and support community growth. Adherence to these guidelines will maintain a cohesive and engaging online presence.


Duties and Responsibilities

Role of S5 Department Clerk

The Clerks are the backbone of the department and are responsible for the creation of products such as graphics or videos. They report to their assigned Senior Clerk and pass along any issues that they may have. The Department Lead will assign them to an area of operation.

Social Media:

  • At least one contact with Social Media Senior per week.
  • All communications on social media must meet the "Cav Communications Guidelines". Any non Cav supported events or media including film and graphics must be reviewed and approved by Social Media Lead prior to posting.
  • Be responsible for maintaining your designated social media platform in line with the posting requirements set out by section lead.
  • Attendance at a monthly planning and review meeting with Section lead. Requirements for this meeting will be to analyze and review content posted, assess impact and engagement and forward plan next quarters activities.
  • Consequence for incomplete duties may result in immediate removal from department.
  • Actions deemed as malicious in nature using 7CAV social media platforms will result in an immediate LoR and removal from the department.
