Introduction
This document is a provisional outline of responsibilities and duties for S6 Department Staff. Information provided in this document does not explicitly cover all as titled and is subject to change. Duties and Responsibilities are provided as general expectations of S6 Personnel and individuals within the department may be asked to perform additional duties. Rules, Regulations and Procedures of this document are in accordance with the S6 Acceptable use Policy (AUP) and S6 Administrator Standard Operating Policy (SOP).
S6 Staff Responsibilities and Duties
The department staff must function as a single, cohesive unit, and professional team. Effective staff members know their respective responsibilities and duties. They are also familiar with the responsibilities and duties of other staff members. This document describes the responsibilities and duties commonly performed by members assigned to the S6 Department.
Common Staff Activities, Responsibilities, and Duties
S6 Staff activities focus on assisting OIC, XO and NCOIC on assisting with S6 tickets, troubleshooting and daily administrative tasks. The staff contributes to making and executing timely decisions and resolutions. S6 Staff are continually alert for opportunities to streamline cumbersome or time-consuming procedures. Staff continuously provide relevant information (RI) to their respective superiours on the progress of duties. Staff members inform and advise the commander and other staff members concerning all matters pertaining to their individual fields of interest and related functional responsibilities.
S6 Officer in Charge
The S6 OIC is responsible for providing general staff with professional and technical advice on 7th Cavalry resource and servers matters and the 7th Cavalry as a whole. S6 OIC is authorized to oversee and implement administration of electronic and information systems not limited to Game Servers, Website, Database and Network Security of the 7th Cavalry Organization. The S6 OIC responsibilities vary according to the general Staff and IMO OIC Desires, but normally include:
- Providing advice and recommendations to the IMO OIC and general staff in matters of a technical nature.
- Executing policies and standards concerning S6 Staff performance, training, and conduct.
- Maintaining communications with subordinates and other S-Departments.
- Administering and monitoring the 7Cav organizations servers and resources.
- Executes creation of, and distribution of department tasks and objectives.
- Providing counsel and guidance to subordinates.
- Helping maintain and develop documentation, software and equipment owned or controlled by the 7th Cavalry.
- Overseeing Development, Implementation and Maintenance of Software and Server Resources.
- Performing other duties prescribed by IMO OIC and general staff.
- Coordinating with XO and NCOIC on Staff Training, Involvement and Discipline.
- Attendance of CSC as per Regimental Requirements.
- Reports directly to IMO OIC.
S6 Executive Officer
The S6 XO responsibilities are identical to the S6 OIC with some exceptions. S6 XO duties are to assist the OIC with administrative and professional duties as well as provide consultation and oversight of subordinates. S6 XO is authorized to implement and oversee administrative tasks within S6 purview. S6 XO has the authority to assume command of the department during a OIC absence.

- Performing duties as given by OIC, IMO OIC or general staff.
- Providing department reports and After Action Reports to OIC.
- Coordinating with OIC and NCOIC on Staff Training, Involvement and Discipline.
- Assisting Development, Implementation and Maintenance of Software and Server Resources.
- Executing standards and policies provided by OIC and general staff.
- Attendance of CSC as per Regimental Requirements.
- Reports directly to OIC.

S6 Non Commissioned Officer in Charge
S6 NCOIC duties and responsibilities are to act as aide-de-camp with both S6 XO and OIC. The S6 NCOIC is responsible for maintaining communication and reporting within and between departments as well as facilitate as a point of contact for external matters. Duties are to assist both the OIC and XO with administrative and professional tasks, provide consultation on S6 personnel matters and to assign and notify staff of pending tasks. S6 NCOIC is authorized to implement documentation and duties as assigned by his or hers superiors. S6 NCOIC has the authority to assume command of the department during OIC, XO absence.
- Assists XO, OIC and staff with duties and responsibilities.
- Provides oversight of staff tasks and objectives.
- Produces reports and tracking of RI for OIC and XO.
- Consults with staff on Policies and Procedures in accordance with department guidelines.
- Maintains communications with staff, OIC, XO and other S-Departments.
- Assists with Documentation, Development and Maintenance of software and server resources.
- Attendance of CSC as per Regimental Requirements.
- Reports directly to OIC and XO.
S6 Game Clerk
The S6 Game Clerk is responsible for one or more games currently in use on our servers. S6 Game Clerks are responsible for maintaining and implementing tasks within their assigned duties. Duties are to monitor and execute tasks that are outlined in S6 Department Guidelines. S6 Game Clerk provides reports to OIC, XO and NCOIC. executes requests from superiors and facilitates communications with other S-departments and players to educate and maintain relations. S6 Game Clerk is the point of contact for their respective assignment and has the authority to modify servers within their responsibility in accordance with department standards.
- Performs duties as defined by Department Guidelines.
- Maintains accountability and documentation on tasks.
- Communicates with OIC, XO, NCOIC to assess and report on efficiency and issues with their respective role.
- Proactively identifies issues and provides feedback on processes or, implementations or, resources used by the department and the 7th cavalry.
- Oversight of non-S6 personnel with special access to servers or resources within their responsibilities.
- Meets with OIC/XO/NCOIC monthly as per department guidelines.
- Adheres to S6 department policy and regulations.
S6 Developer
S6 Developers are responsible for implementing tasks as assigned by OIC and XO. Responsibilities are defined per individual by OIC and XO and may differ between other staff within the billet. S6 Developer staff duties are to report and execute tasks and requests given by the OIC and XO. S6 Developers may be tasked to provide advice, consultation of, implementation of and oversight of various resources owned or controlled by the 7th Cavalry. S6 Developer staff is a provisional billet where duties or responsibilities may change at a given notice. Duties pertain but not limited to development of applications, infrastructure or automation there of.
- Executes requests from OIC/XO
- Communicates with OIC, XO, NCOIC with reports pertaining to duties as assigned.
- Adheres to S6 Department Policy, Regulations and Procedures.
- Meets with OIC/XO/NCOIC monthly as per department guidelines.
- Provides Advice and Counsel with Staff within relation of their assigned duties.
