S5 - CAVALRY TIMES

Role of Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is to perform all final editorial duties for the Cavalry Times, assist in the creation of pages for the Cavalry Times, and post the Cavalry Times on a regular schedule.

Responsibilities of Cavalry Times Editor-in-Chief
  • Provide monthly reports to the 2IC before the 1st of the month.
  • Monitor and respond to communications from readers of the Cavalry Times via forums and Discord.
  • Ensure all Cavalry Times Writers have the correct access to resources required for their duties.
  • Counsel Cavalry Times Writers as needed to maintain adherence to regulations.
  • Add content from Cavalry Times Writers into Scribus, maintaining all standards.
  • Assist in the creation of content for the Cavalry Times.
  • Minimum rank requirement: CPL.

Role of Cavalry Times Lead

Department Leads manage staff writers and counseling new staff to maintain effective strength and productivity.

Responsibilities of Lead
  • Ensure all Cavalry Times Writers have the correct access to resources required for their duties.
  • Track department staffing and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • Counsel Cavalry Times Writers as needed to maintain adherence to regulations.
  • Minimum rank requirement: CPL.

Role of Cavalry Times Senior

Senior clerks support the Editor-in-Chief with department responsibilities.

Responsibilities of Senior
  • Help counsel Cavalry Times Writers as needed to maintain positive morale and productivity.
  • Report issues to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Minimum rank requirement: PFC.

Role of Cavalry Times Writer

Writers are responsible for producing content for the Cavalry Times. They report to the Editor-in-Chief and Senior for page assignments and guidance.

Responsibilities of Cavalry Times Writer
  • Produce content for 1 Cavalry Times Page every 2 weeks using Google Docs or Discord.
  • Report to and follow guidelines set by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Minimum rank requirement: PFC.

Role of Cavalry Times Editor

Editors are responsible for producing content for the Cavalry Times on their own, which is reviewed and finalized by the Editor-in-Chief. They report to the Editor-in-Chief and Senior for page assignments and guidance.

Responsibilities of Cavalry Times Editor
  • Produce content for 1 Cavalry Times Page every 2 weeks using Scribus to be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief for publishing.
  • Report to and follow guidelines set by the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Minimum rank requirement: PFC.
