<!-- January 2013:
After having bore witness to senseless and constant abuses to members of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment for just under a year (During the Plumbly era combined with CID/S2 obliterating peoples careers over at times, near nothing), he took it upon himself and was inspired to join the JAG Department. His interest was to become a member who assisted in defending what was right and particularly Troopers from the abuse of their authority and to ultimately become a JAG Corp Defense Attorney believing that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and deserved their fair chance of a Court Martial with representation. It took him a year and two months with ten months of service to see the beginning of the reality of this goal. To which he stated, it took every moment of preparation, learning the ins and outs of the Cav, and to be ready for the tasks given to him. Although he had only been an Attorney for around a month, his efforts for helping the Cav brethren were so profound, he was appointed JAG Chief Judge Advocate General in October of 2011 and given charge of the department as a whole.
There is no job that is more difficult in the entirety of the 7th Cavalry Regiment than to be a JAG Corps Defense Attorney. The reason for this is because everyone will expect you to know the answers to everything and they will be out to destroy your defendant. Therefore, you must be perfect in all ways. It's expected to you to have been a member for several years if possible and obtained a primary billet of an Officer status. He made it required for you to make Attorney for Defense, you must obtain the rank of Captain O-3 for this reason. To be a Prosecutor, you must have first served as a distinguished Defense Attorney and be the most senior member of the JAG Corps other than the Judge himself. You must serve at a minimum of six months to a year or longer as a Clerk under an Attorney in order to become one so that you are well versed, prepared, and trained having first been an administrative assistant to an Attorney so that you yourself will know how to prepare for Cases prior to leading them. You must have no NCS on your record and have a Letter of Recommendation from your direct superior and a member of the JAG Corps must also write a Letter of Recommendation on your behalf. Once you are prepared for Attorney, you will be given an exam, participate in a mock Case, be part of a mock Trial, and pass with a 85% grade or higher. There is no greater honor than to become and succeed a 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment Attorney and there is no more difficult position than to be one. You are the frontline of Honor, integrity, and Discipline for the Regiment.
I have been diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. I'm dying, I know I'm going to die soon, and I don't want everyone knowing because I don't want the Cav to think differently of me. I just want to spend my time helping others, doing what is right, and making sure others are okay so I can be there for them for their sake.
(He then went on to tell me I was the only person outside of JAG who knew this and if I could keep it to myself. I did. Eventually someone told the Generals. However, these details, by and large, were not public till around/after his discharge and up until he passed, most didn't know.)
Noteworthy mentions:
From the day I graduated from Bootcamp 2013-01-19 until the day he Retired 2013-11-29, Traycer did not miss a single day on Teamspeak, he was on up to ten plus hours every single day, and his was always there for a Trooper in need of help regardless of rank or billet. He did what he loved and enjoyed helping the Cav as a whole. He moderated the forums, dealt with all disciplinary processes, and worked as a liaison with all departments. Nobody worked harder, put more time into the Cav, or continued with as much passion for his duties than Brigadier General Traycer did his final year serving in the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment.
(If not for him, I would not have been inspired to join JAG and eventually become Attorney and until the day he retired, he assisted me with my career giving advice and filling me in with intricate intel without me even asking.)
Brigadier General Traycer went on to live just short of four more years. Near the end, he was far to unhealthy to participate within the Cav however, even as a Retired member and dying man, kept in touch with the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment until his passing.
