A trooper is any enlisted member of the 7th Cavalry that is part of a section, and not the Section Leader. Troopers can retain their combat billet whilst volunteering for most secondary billets. A trooper will not be able to advance past the rank of Corporal unless a leadership billet is attained.

Role

Troopers are what make up the vast majority of all combat billets; they are the soldiers who train weekly to keep their skills honed, and act as the front-line fighting force of the regiment.

Responsibilities

A trooper's duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Posting on the section roll call every week, as early as possible.
  • Attending at least one section practice every week, minimum of one hour.
  • Attend any mandatory meetings and practices set forth by the Platoon / Company / Battalion command.
  • Adhere to the guidelines set forth by the section leader, and follow their instructions.
  • Follow the chain of command to bring up any issues within the section.
