An enlisted member is defined as any member at the ranks of PVT (E-2) to SPC (E-4), regardless of billet. A non-commissioned officer (NCO) is defined as any member at the rank of CPL (E-4)/WO1 (W-1) to SGM (E-9)/CW5 (W-5), regardless of billet. An officer is defined as any member over the rank of 2LT (O-1).
