Original Project Creation
1. Define and develop your idea for a project.

At this stage you will also perform any original video recording, animation design, graphic design, voice over recording, music procurement, and etc. Lastly, you may want to review content within the S5 NextCloud video archive to see if any prepared resources fit your needs. After this, proceed to copy all of this material into a working project folder on your personal PC or in your designated project folder in the NextCloud. Proceed to step 4.
4. Perform film editing. In this stage you will compile all of your resources to create your desired end product using a program of your choice. S5 recommends and supports BlackMagic Davinci Resolve, but you may seek out other options such as Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, or FinalCut. Stakeholder Project Creation
1. Volunteer for a S5 Film Request ticket. Listen to and understand the requestor and, if needed, help them define their idea for a project. A stakeholder is an affected individual or organization. For example, in 2023 1SG Geki.T may be a requestor for an S3 ArmA project. The scope of who the stakeholders are in this would include the requestor, and their direct two or three levels of leadership. 2. Create a project plan. This may include creation of a storyboard, list of shots, any experimental design ideas you want to implement, written and spoken dialogue, specific video clips or graphics that already exist, any roles that you need fulfilled to complete or execute this project. Include the requestor in the planning stage and seek their input and vision. 3. Determine if you have all of those resources available at this point. Yes: Proceed to copy all of this material into a working project folder on your personal PC or in your project folder in the NextCloud. No: Proceed to obtain any necessary resources for the project. You may wish to make a call to action to receive film donations, including from the stakeholder group, at which point you may need to go through the S5 Donated Media Auditing Process with any externally generated material. At this stage you will also perform any original video recording, animation design, graphic design, voice over recording, music procurement, and etc. Ensure this generated content matches the tone of the request. Required: Credit all people involved in the project (to the best of your ability), all sources of graphics, video, etc. If not supplied by the project requestor, then prepare a generic title and description for your video if it is hosted anywhere using our S5 Title and Description Guidelines. 5. Once your edit is complete, submit your recording for review to the project requestor and, optionally, stakeholder group leadership. 6. Review criteria. Did your film pass review? Yes: Proceed to step 7. No: Listen to and understand any feedback and critique offered by the project requestor and help accomodate their vision. Be aware that the requestor or their COC may withdraw the request at any time. 7. Once your edit is complete, submit your recording for review to the S5 Film Lead, S5 1IC, and S5 2IC. 8. Review criteria. Did your film pass review? Yes: You are free to return this to the project requestor. They may request that you send them the file directly through means of a file sharing service such as Google Drive, or directly request you to arrange its upload to YouTube, social media platforms, etc. No: You must review the feedback given by leadership. Product will be denied for a variety of reasons ranging from poor quality, recognized improvement opportunities, out of step with Cav standards, containing material that is in breach of copyright and not covered under fair use, poor spelling and grammar, or possibly portray Cav activities in a bad light/out of context. Edit and correct the critique if possible and repeat step 5.
